An electronic device which is required to perform a precise operation with a heat generation amount from itself being large, such as a computer and a server, can be efficiently cooled at low running cost. Server rooms (14A, 14B) in which a plurality of servers (28) are placed, an evaporator (34) which is provided close to each of the servers (28), and cools exhaust air from the server (28) by vaporizing a refrigerant with heat generating from the server (28), a cooling tower (38) which is provided at a place higher than the evaporator (34), cools the refrigerant by outside air and water sprinkling, and condenses the vaporized refrigerant, and a circulation line (40) in which the refrigerant naturally circulates between the evaporator (34) and the cooling tower (38).

Cooling system for electronic equipment

A cooling system for transferring heat from a heat load to an environment has a volatile working fluid. The cooling system includes first and second cooling cycles that are thermally connected to the first cooling cycle. The first cooling cycle is not a vapor compression cycle and includes a pump, an air-to-fluid heat exchanger, and a fluid-to-fluid heat exchanger. The second cooling cycle can include a chilled water system for transferring heat from the fluid-to-fluid heat exchanger to the environment. Alternatively, the second cooling cycle can include a vapor compression system for transferring heat from the fluid-to-fluid heat exchanger to the environment.

Cooling system for high density heat load

A cooling system for an indwelling heat exchange catheter includes a heat exchange bath that is configured to receive a conduit that carries saline to and from the catheter. A heating/cooling fluid is in the bath and exchanges heat with the saline. The heating/cooling fluid flows through a heat exchanger that includes a refrigerant and two variable speed DC compressor for removing heat from the refrigerant. A gear pump circulates the working fluid to and from the catheter and is removably engaged with a pump support platform.

Heating/cooling system for indwelling heat exchange catheter

A thermal zone demand controlled air conditioning fan coil unit using dual cascade arranged heat pumps, chilled water, or a combination of chilled water and hot water, with or without back up electric resistance heat strips, and having an air circulation system for circulating air to and from a plurality of thermal zones and including a conditioned air chamber having first and second heat exchange refrigerant coils or direct or reversed cycle water coils being connected in refrigerant circulating relation respectively with the heat pumps, chilled water coil. A plurality of thermal zone blowers conduct conditioned air from the conditioned air chamber to respective thermal zones of a building space. Electronic controller circuitry of the system is coupled for thermal demand control of the heat pumps and the thermal zone blowers for operation of the first heat pump during average thermal load and for operation of both heat pumps during greater thermal load. For chilled or hot water systems, the controller controls operation of thermal zone blowers and motorized valves which control the flow of water to and from the water coils. The electronic controller circuitry further provides thermostat control circuitry having set point change capability at any of the thermal zone thermostats and periodically reverses heat pump operation to compensate for uneven wear.

Zone demand controlled dual air conditioning system and controller therefor

A heat pump system using air as its heat source is disclosed. In this system, the refrigeration circuit consists of both a main refrigerant line and a refrigerant suction line. A heat accumulator, containing both a heat medium and a heat storage phase change material, is mounted on the refrigerant line at a position between the cooling mode and heating mode expansion valves. A heat-dissipating heat exchanger is mounted on the main refrigerant line, and is set in the accumulator. A subsidiary heat exchanger is installed around the inlet port of the outdoor heat exchanger, and is connected to the heat accumulator through heat medium lines with a circulating pump. The system also has a heat pipe consisting of both an evaporating part installed at the periphery of the heat-dissipating heat exchanger, and a heat dissipating part installed at the periphery of the heat accumulator and connected to the evaporating part through a connection pipe. First and second heat-absorbing heat exchangers are connected to the refrigerant suction line in parallel to each other such that the first and second heat-absorbing heat exchangers are respectively set in the heat dissipating part and the heat accumulator, and selectively operated in accordance with the temperature of refrigerant flowing through the suction line to be returned to the compressor.

Heat pump system

An air conditioning system for buildings includes a plurality of air conditioners on the different floors, a cooling gravity type heat pipe connecting vaporizers in the air conditioners with a cold thermal source installed at the top of the building and a warming gravity type heat pipe connecting a condenser of the air conditioners with a hot thermal source installed in the basement of the building. The heat pipes are, respectively, provided with flow control valves at the inlet of each vaporizer and the outlet of each condenser. Each air conditioner is provided with a thermistor for detecting the temperature of the returning air and a liquid level detection switch for detecting the liquid level of the thermal medium in the vaporizer. The flow control valves are respectively controlled based on the detection signals issued by the thermistor and the liquid level detection switch.
