Leveraging green communications for carbon emission reductions: Techniques, testbeds, and emerging carbon footprint standards
Charles Despins,Fabrice Labeau,Tho Le Ngoc,Richard Labelle,Mohamed Cheriet,Claude Thibeault,Francois Gagnon,Alberto Leon-Garcia,Omar Cherkaoui,Bill St. Arnaud,J. Mcneill,Yves Lemieux,Mathieu Lemay +12 more
TL;DR: An overview of ongoing international efforts to standardize methodologies that accurately quantify the carbon abatement potential of ICTs is offered, an essential tool to ensure the economic viability of green ICT in the low carbon economy and carbon credit marketplace of the 21st century.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Mobility-aware Ant Colony Optimization routing for vehicular ad hoc networks
TL;DR: This work proposes Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) procedures that take advantage of information available in vehicular networks – such as the vehicles' position and speed –, in order to design an ant-based algorithm that performs well in the dynamics of such networks.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Fast path acceleration for open vSwitch in overlay networks
TL;DR: A new strategy is introduced that enables network virtualization edge to offload elephant flow to a fast path created in hardware level, which reduces the latency and accelerates the forwarding in the fabric.
Journal ArticleDOI
A logistic regression analysis of multiple noninvasive tests for the prediction of the presence and extent of coronary artery disease in men
Joseph Hung,Joseph Hung,Bernard R. Chaitman,Bernard R. Chaitman,Jules Y.T. Lam,Jules Y.T. Lam,Jacques Lesperance,Jacques Lesperance,Georges Dupras,Georges Dupras,Phillippe Fines,Phillippe Fines,Omar Cherkaoui,Omar Cherkaoui,Pierre Robert,Pierre Robert,Martial G. Bourassa,Martial G. Bourassa +17 more
TL;DR: The incremental diagnostic yield of clinical data, exercise ECG, stress thallium scintigraphy, and cardiac fluoroscopy to predict coronary and multivessel disease was assessed and it is confirmed that optimal diagnostic efficacy is obtained when noninvasive tests are ordered sequentially.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
OpenFlow supporting inter-domain virtual machine migration
TL;DR: A network infrastructure as a services (IaaS) software middleware solution based on Openflow in order to abstract the DCN architecture specifities and instantly interconnect DCNs and an experimental scenario dealing with virtual machine migration is implemented.
