Abstract: The theoretical and experimental studies of hyperfiltration of electrolytes through charged membranes indicate the important role of the potentials developed across the membranes. These potentials were measured directly with a pair of reversible electrodes under conditions of stationary hyperfiltration. The influence of flow rate, electrolyte concentration and the relative mobility of the ions was determined.
