Journal ArticleDOI

Reactions of 1,4-Bis(trimethylsilyl)-1,4-dihydropyridines with Carbonyl Compounds: A New Method for Regioselective Synthesis of 3-Alkylpyridines.

TL;DR: In this paper, a new method for the alkyl group introduction at the 3 position of pyridienes is described, which is based on disilylation of the pyridine, its 2-methyl, 3-methyl and 4-methyl derivatives.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis of Dithia- and Tetrathiacyclophanes Incorporating Isoxazole Units.

TL;DR: In this article, the reaction of 5-bromomethyl-3-(p-m-, m-, and p-bis(mercap-tomethemyl)benzenes gave the corresponding dithia-and/or tetrathiaisoxazolophanes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Anion Radical-Induced Desilylation of Organosilane. Reactions of Benzylsilanes with Aldehydes and Related Compounds in the Presence of Butyllithium or Lithium Metal.

TL;DR: By the action of butyllithium or lithium metal in such polar aprotic solvent as DMF or HMPA, some benzylsilanes suffer from anion radical-induced desilylation forming benzyl carbanions which add to the aldehydes and related compounds.
