Journal ArticleDOI
Heavy-fermion superconductivity in CeCoIn5 at 2.3 K
Cedomir Petrovic,P. G. Pagliuso,M. F. Hundley,Roman Movshovich,J. L. Sarrao,Joe D. Thompson,Z. Fisk,Z. Fisk,p. Monthoux +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors reported the observation of heavy-fermion superconductivity in CeCoIn5 at Tc = 2.3 K. When compared to the pressure-induced Tc of its cubic relative CeIn3 (Tc~200 mK), the Tc
Journal ArticleDOI
A new heavy-fermion superconductor CeIrIn5: A relative of the cuprates?
Cedomir Petrovic,Cedomir Petrovic,Roman Movshovich,Marcelo Jaime,P. G. Pagliuso,M. F. Hundley,J. L. Sarrao,Z. Fisk,Z. Fisk,Joe D. Thompson +9 more
TL;DR: CeIrIn5 is a member of a new family of heavy-fermion compounds and has a Sommerfeld specific heat coefficient of 720 mJ/molK2.
Journal ArticleDOI
Critical examination of heat capacity measurements made on a Quantum Design physical property measurement system
Jason C. Lashley,M. F. Hundley,Albert Migliori,J. L. Sarrao,P. G. Pagliuso,Timothy W. Darling,Marcelo Jaime,Jason C. Cooley,W. L. Hults,Luis A. Morales,Dan J. Thoma,James L. Smith,Juliana Boerio-Goates,Brian F. Woodfield,G. R. Stewart,R. A. Fisher,Norman E. Phillips +16 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined the performance of a thermal-relaxation calorimeter that operates in the temperature range of 1.8-395 K. The accuracy of the PPMS specific heat data is determined by comparing data measured on copper and synthetic sapphire samples with standard literature values.
Journal ArticleDOI
Unconventional superconductivity in CeIrIn5 and CeCoIn5: specific heat and thermal conductivity studies.
Roman Movshovich,Marcelo Jaime,Joe D. Thompson,Cedomir Petrovic,Zachary Fisk,P. G. Pagliuso,J. L. Sarrao +6 more
TL;DR: Low temperature specific heat and thermal conductivity measurements on the ambient pressure heavy fermion superconductors CeIrIn5 and CeCoIn5 reveal power law temperature dependences of these quantities below T(c).
Journal ArticleDOI
Superconductivity and quantum criticality in CeCoIn5.
V. A. Sidorov,Michael Nicklas,P. G. Pagliuso,J. L. Sarrao,Yunkyu Bang,Alexander V. Balatsky,Joe D. Thompson +6 more
TL;DR: Electrical resistivity measurements on a single crystal of the heavy-fermion superconductor CeCoIn5 at pressures to 4.2 GPa reveal a strong crossover in transport properties near P(*) approximately 1.6 GPa, where T(c) is a maximum.
