Fault tolerant small satellite attitude control using adaptive non-singular terminal sliding mode

This paper presents a systematic design procedure to synchronize two identical chaotic satellites systems based on a predictive control. This method is developed on the basis of delayed feedback control of continuous-time chaotic systems combines with the prediction-based method of discrete-time chaotic systems. Moreover, we give necessary and sufficient conditions for exponential stabilization of unstable fixed points by the proposed method. Simulation results are presented to verify the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.

T-S fuzzy modeling and predictive control and synchronization of chaotic satellite systems

This paper addresses the three-axis stabilization of a satellite system in the presence of the gravity gradient and orbital eccentricity. Multivariable non-linear dynamics of the satellite system are converted into three well-known non-linear canonical independent models with unknown parameters. The new model is efficient and practical for designers to implement and analyze different control methodologies on satellite systems. A self-tuning PID controller is designed on the basis of the new proposed model to produce control signals for three reaction wheels in three axes. An adaptive algorithm is applied to tune and update gains of the PID controller and stability of the closed-loop system is guaranteed by using Lyapunov approach. Numerical simulations are performed to demonstrate feasibility and effectiveness of the self-tuning PID controller and a comparison with a fixed gain PD controller and a variable-structure controller is made.

Measuring chaos and synchronization of chaotic satellite systems using sliding mode control

Input-output (I/O) Inearization is a typical nonlinear control method in the multi-input multi-output (MIMO) system. In this paper, adaptive fuzzy sliding mode control incorporating input-output linearization is proposed to constitute the hybrid controller. The proposed method is then applied to the attitude maneuver control of the flexible satellite. The basic control structure is presented. The adaptive fuzzy control is utilized to approach the nonlinear control part of sliding mode control and the adaptive law is derived. The parameter of the adaptive fuzzy control is adjusted on-line to deal with the satellite uncertainty, thus the robustness is obtained. Simulation results show that precise attitude control is accomplished in spite of the uncertainty in the system.

Flexible Satellite Attitude Control Via Sliding Mode Technique

The adaptive fuzzy sliding mode control is applied to the attitude stabilization of flexible satellite. The detailed design procedure of the fuzzy sliding mode control system is presented. The adaptive fuzzy control is utilized to approach the equivalent control of sliding mode control and the adaptive law is derived. The hitting control, which guarantees the stability of the control system, is developed. In order to attenuate the chattering phenomena, fuzzy rules are employed to smooth the hitting control. Simulation results show precise attitude control is accomplished based on the proposed method.
