Bibliographic references to works pertaining to the taxonomy of Coleoptera published between 1758 and 1900 in the non-periodical literature are listed. Each reference includes the full name of the author, the year or range of years of the publication, the title in full, the publisher and place of publication, the pagination with the number of plates, and the size of the work. This information is followed by the date of publication found in the work itself, the dates found from external sources, and the libraries consulted for the work. Overall, more than 990 works published by 622 primary authors are listed. For each of these authors, a biographic notice (if information was available) is given along with the references consulted.

Litteratura Coleopterologica 1758-1900: A Guide to Selected Books Related to the Taxonomy of Coleoptera With Publication Dates and Notes

Dieser Beitrag enthalt eine kurze Zusammenstellung der wichtigsten Ergebnisse der ersten Auswertungsperiode 1961-1965 der Albanien-Expedition des Deutschen Entomologischen Institutes, die in der Zeit vom 9.V. bis 16.VIII. 1961 durchgefuhrt worden ist. Uber die Expeditions-Ausbeute, die ca. 42000 Insekten nahezu aller Ordnungen umfast, wurden in der Berichtszeit 59 Beitrage mit zusammen rund 1000 Druckseiten zusammengestellt, publiziert in Beitr. Ent. Bd. 12/1962 bis 16/1966. Darin sind 6448 Exemplare (= 15,4%) der Gesamtausbeute wissenschaftlich bearbeitet, weitere 10837 Exemplare (= 25,9%) befanden sich am 31.12.1965 bei entsprechenden Spezialisten zur Determination und Bearbeitung. Unter den insgesamt 1132 bearbeiteten Arten fanden sich 471 Erstnachweise (42%) fur die Fauna Albaniens, 22 Arten (2%)waren neu fur die Balkanhalbinsel und 11 (1%) neu fur Europa. Fur die Wissenschaft neu waren 9 Arten, 6 Unterarten und 3 Aberrationen. Die zweite Auswertungsperiode lauft laut Forschungsplanung in den Jahren 1966-1970 und umfast die Beitrage ab Nr. 61, deren Veroffentlichung in diesem Heft der Beitr. Ent. beginnt.

The type specimens of Colletes Latreille 1802 deposited in the Zoological Institute, Russian Academy of Sciences (St. Petersburg) are reviewed. Precise information about types of 30 taxa are provided (12 described by J. Noskiewicz; 9 by F. Morawitz; 8 by M. Kuhlmann and M. Proshchalykin; 1 by H. Friese). Lectotypes are designated here and illustrated for the following six nominal taxa: Colletes alpinus Morawitz 1872, C. caspicus Morawitz 1874, C. montana Morawitz 1876, C. squamosus Morawitz 1877, C. tuberculatus Morawitz 1893, and C. wollmanni Noskiewicz 1936. Colletes alpinus was synonymized with C. impunctatus Nylander 1852 but is now recognized as a synonym of C. floralis Eversmann 1852. Colletes morawitzensis Kuhlmann & Proshchalykin, sp. nov. is described based on a male specimen from Turkmenistan and deposited in the Morawitz collection.

Type specimens of Colletes Latreille (Hymenoptera, Colletidae) deposited in the Zoological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, St. Petersburg, with description of a new species

One species of the louse genus Philopterus Nitzsch, 1818 is redescribed and illustrated: Philopterus acrocephalus Carriker, 1949 ex Acrocephalus luscinius (Quoy & Gaimard, 1830), A. melanopogon (Temminck, 1823), A. scirpaceus (Hermann, 1804), A. schoenobaenus (Linnaeus, 1758), Iduna aedon rufescens Stegmann, 1929, I. rama (Sykes, 1832), Locustella sp. and L. ochotensis (von Middendorff, 1853). Philopterus acrocephalus represents the first species of the Philopterus -complex recorded in the family Locustellidae Bonaparte, 1854. Philopterus gustafssoni sp. nov. is described ex Regulus regulus (Linnaeus, 1758), R. regulus regulus (Linnaeus, 1758), R. regulus azoricus Seebohm, 1883, R. regulus buturlini von Loudon, 1911, R. regulus sanctaemariae Vaurie, 1954, R. regulus tristis Pleske, 1892 and R. ignicapillus (Temminck, 1820). Descriptions of both species are amended with genetic data, DNA sequences of mitochondrial cytochrome oxidase I, nuclear hyp and TMEDE6 ; concatenated sequences are compared to the morphologically nearest species with genetic data available, Philopterus citrinellae (Schrank, 1776) and Philopterus fringillae (Scopoli, 1772). Holotype of Philopterus reguli (Denny, 1842) is pronounced to be a straggler, determination of other known material from Regulidae is changed for Philopterus gustafssoni sp. nov.

Revision of the Swedish species of Neoxorides Clément, 1938 (Ichneumonidae: Poemeniinae) with the description of a new species and an illustrated key to species

The Phthiraptera type specimen collection of Jadwiga ZłotorZycka preserved in the Museum of Natural History, University of Wrocław, consists of 88 holotypes, one neotype and 628 paratypes (total 717 specimens) of 124 species and subspecies of Amblycera and Ischnocera. Details of each taxon and type specimen are listed, including the original combination and current status, museum catalogue number and collecting localities. The contribution of ZłotorZycka to the knowledge of Phthiraptera is discussed.

The Apidae collection of Jan Noskiewicz preserved at the Museum of Natural History, University of Wrocław, Wrocław, Poland is summarised. The entire Hymenoptera collection consists of many families of Aculeata, but the bees represent the most valuable part, with nearly 1000 identified species and subspecies, and over 11500 specimens of predominantly Old World geographical range. A brief biographical note on Jan Noskiewicz, the late professor of the University of Wrocław and a renowned specialist on Apidae, is given. The type specimens of 75 bee species and subspecies from the Noskiewicz Collection are listed with respective details and bibliographic data.

Plaumanniola simplicissima n. sp. is described and illustrated. This is the third species of this unusual genus of the tribe Plaumanniolini, and the present finding extends the range of Plaumanniola to the central part of Bolivia (hitherto known only from southern and northern Brazil). The new species seems to be the least morphologically modified Plaumanniola, showing relatively weakly broadened head, only slightly flattened legs and long antennae, not so compact as in the previously known congeners.
