Rapid radiochemical separation of radium from environmental samples using ion-exchanger Zeokarb-225
L. U. Joshi,P. K. Padmanabhan +1 more
TL;DR: A rapid radiochemical method has been developed for the separation of radium in the presence of excess calcium from environmental samples such as spring waters and marine sediments as discussed by the authors, where Radium is preconcentrated by co-precipitation as carbonates along with other alkaline earths.
Journal ArticleDOI
A rapid method for the separation of radium from Tuwa spring waters for determining the activity ratio of223Ra/226Ra
TL;DR: In this paper, a rapid method for the separation of radium in spring waters of Tuwa, Panchamahal district, India, containing large amounts of calcium (0.5 g/l) has been developed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Use of a carboxylate exchanger in the determination of copper in distilled water by neutron activation analysis
TL;DR: Copper in distilled water is collected on Zeokarb 226(NH 4 + ) and irradiated with thermal neutrons as mentioned in this paper, and the induced activity of 0.51 MeV photopeak of 64Cu with that of a standard, irradiated under comparable conditions, is easily determined.
Journal ArticleDOI
Use of Dowex A-1(H+) and ZeoKarb 226(H+) for the Sequential Separation of Uranium, Thorium, and Rare Earths in Monazite
TL;DR: When a mixture of rare earths, thorium, and uranium at pH 1.0 in sulfate medium is passed through a column (1.5 × 12 cm) of Dowex A-1(H+), rare elements pass through and thorium is eluted with 6 N hydrochloric acid and subsequently the uranium with 2 N nitric acid as discussed by the authors.
