Journal ArticleDOI

Hot workability of γ + α2 titanium aluminide: Development of processing map and constitutive equations

TL;DR: In this paper, a hot isothermal compression test is carried out on reaction synthesized and homogenized titanium aluminide alloys at different temperatures and strain rates using Gleeble thermomechanical simulator.
Journal ArticleDOI

Calorimetric study on mechanically milled aluminum and multiwall carbon nanotube composites

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of milling time on the initiation of an exothermic reaction between carbon nanotubes and aluminum was investigated and the apparent activation energy was found to get doubled after 36 hours compared to 24 hours milled samples.
Journal ArticleDOI

Studies on the processing of nickel base porous wicks for capillary pumped loop for thermal management of spacecrafts

TL;DR: In this article, a cylindrical wick with porosity of 64%, average pore size of 5μm and a permeability of 70m-Darcy could be realized.
Journal ArticleDOI

Deformation behaviour of γ+α2 Ti aluminide processed through reaction synthesis

TL;DR: In this article, a hot isothermal compression test is carried out to study the deformation characteristics of the alloys using Gleeble thermomechanical simulator and it is found that dynamic recrystallization is mainly playing role in deformation of these alloys.
Journal ArticleDOI

Differential scanning calorimetry and reaction kinetics studies of γ + α2 Ti aluminide

TL;DR: In this article, the authors studied the kinetics of the reaction using Johnson-Mehl-Avrami equation and calculated the activation energy and Avrami parameter for five different alloy mixtures based on Ti48Al2Cr2Nb0.1B.
