TL;DR: In this article, an anti-rotation and displacement compensation mechanism for a mechanical outer clamping top drive casing running device was proposed, where the displacement compensation during makeup of a casing is provided, and the whole upper connecting assembly is not needed to move downwards, so that resistance during makeup is reduced, the working efficiency is improved, and service life of the device is prolonged.
