Journal ArticleDOI
A comparison of reduced-dose prasugrel and standard-dose clopidogrel in elderly patients with acute coronary syndromes undergoing early percutaneous revascularization: Design and rationale of the randomized Elderly-ACS 2 study.
Luca A. Ferri,Nuccia Morici,Daniele Grosseto,Giovanni Tortorella,Irene Bossi,Paolo Sganzerla,Michele Cacucci,Girolamo Sibilio,Stefano Tondi,Anna Toso,Maurizio Ferrario,Nicola Gandolfo,Amelia Ravera,Matteo Mariani,Elena Corrada,Leonardo Di Ascenzo,Anna Sonia Petronio,Claudio Cavallini,Nadia Moffa,Stefano De Servi,Stefano Savonitto +20 more
TL;DR: The Elderly-ACS 2 study is a multicenter, randomized trial comparing a strategy of dual antiplatelet therapy with a reduced dose of prasugrel with a standard dose of clopidogrel in elderly patients with ACS undergoing percutaneous revascularization.
Journal ArticleDOI
Successful transcatheter management of Palmaz Stent embolization after superior vena cava stenting.
Antonio L. Bartorelli,Franco Fabbiocchi,Piero Montorsi,Alessandro Loaldi,Gloria Tamborini,Paolo Sganzerla +5 more
TL;DR: A 34-year-old patient with benign superior vena cava syndrome (SVCS) was treated with thrombolytic therapy, balloon angioplasty, and placement of two peripheral Palmaz stents and continues to be asymptomatic.
Journal ArticleDOI
Electrophysiologic and haemodynamic correlates in supraventricular tachycardia.
TL;DR: The haemodynamic response to SVT differs significantly between the two types of reciprocating tachycardia, particularly as regards cardiac output and blood pressure, and is mainly influenced by the temporal relationship between atrial and ventricular systole, independent of the rate of contraction.
Journal ArticleDOI
Transcatheter PFO closure with GORE(®) septal occluder: early and mid-term clinical results.
Gianfranco Butera,Antonio Saracino,Paolo Danna,Paolo Sganzerla,Massimo Chessa,Mario Carminati +5 more
TL;DR: The procedural and early results of transcatheter closure of PFO with the GORE® Septal Occluder with the aim of finding the ideal device for PFO closure is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pulmonary vasoconstrictor overreactivity in borderline systemic hypertension.
TL;DR: It is suggested that in the early phases of systemic hypertension lung vessels are hypercontractile so that they overreact to hypoperfusion or to sympathetic stimulation, even before there is a stable rise in pressure and resistance.
