The Relationship Between Marriage and Psychological Well-being A Longitudinal Analysis

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined the relationship between marriage and psychological well-being using a sample from the National Survey of Families and Households panel data and found that the effect of the quality of marital (cohabiting) relationship on psychological wellbeing was significant, but the strong effect of marital status remained unchanged after controlling for relationship quality.

Cultural Variations in Parenting: Perceptions of Caucasian, African-American, Hispanic, and Asian-American Parents.

TL;DR: The authors examined the extent and pattern of unique cultural variation in parenting according to the perceptions of mothers and fathers in two-parent families and found that parents from ethnic groups use the same techniques for socialization of their children as do Caucasian parents, that is, modeling, reinforcement and identification, they often use these techniques to pass on the unique values and behaviors of their cultural group.
