Martin R. Cowie,Holger Woehrle,Karl Wegscheider,Christiane E. Angermann,Marie Pia d'Ortho,Erland Erdmann,Patrick Levy,Anita K. Simonds,Virend K. Somers,Faiez Zannad,Helmut Teschler +10 more
TL;DR: Adaptive servo-ventilation had no significant effect on the primary end point in patients who had heart failure with reduced ejection fraction and predominantly central sleep apnea, but all-cause and cardiovascular mortality were both increased with this therapy.

Obstructive sleep apnoea syndrome
Patrick Levy,Malcolm Kohler,Walter T. McNicholas,Ferran Barbé,R. Doug McEvoy,Virend K. Somers,Lena Lavie,Jean-Louis Pépin +7 more
TL;DR: Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) is the primary treatment modality in patients with severe OSAS, whereas oral appliances are also widely used in mild to moderate forms, and combining different treatment modalities such as CPAP and weight control is beneficial, but need to be evaluated in randomized controlled trials.
Journal ArticleDOI
Deficits of cognitive executive functions in patients with sleep apnea syndrome.
Bernadette Naegele,Valérie Thouvard,Jean-Louis Pépin,Patrick Levy,Catherine Bonnet,Perret J,Pellat J,Claude Feuerstein +7 more
TL;DR: Patients with sleep apnea syndrome were found to have a significantly decreased ability to initiate new mental processes and to inhibit automatic ones, in conjunction with a tendency for preservative errors, and had reduced memory spans.
