TL;DR: Clinicians and organ procurement organizations and transplant centers should be aware of the potential for Balamuthia infection in donors with encephalitis of uncertain etiology, and OPOs should communicate this elevated risk for infection to transplant centers so they can make an informed risk assessment in the decision to accept an organ.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors conducted a case series of suspected SARS-CoV-2-associated deaths in the United States in persons and found that most of the decedents were male (71, 63%), 31 (28%) were Black (non-Hispanic) persons, and 52 (46%) were Hispanic persons.
