A fluid leak detection system (10) is provided, and includes a fluid conduit (20), a fluid-cooled device (30) having an inlet (60) and an outlet (62), an inlet flow meter (24), an outlet flow meter (36), and a controller (50). The inlet flow meter (24) is fluidly connected to the fluid conduit (20). The inlet flow meter (24) monitors the inlet (60) of the fluid-cooled device (30) for an inlet (60) temperature and an inlet flow rate. The inlet flow meter (24) has an inlet flow meter (24) drift versus process fluid temperature curve. The outlet flow meter (36) is fluidly connected to the fluid conduit (20). The outlet flow meter (36) monitors the outlet (62) of the fluid-cooled device (30) for an outlet (62) temperature and an outlet flow rate. The outlet flow meter (36) has an outlet flow meter (36) drift versus process fluid temperature curve. The controller (50) is in communication with the inlet flow meter (24) and the outlet flow meter (36).

A method for operating a vibrating flow meter system is provided. The method includes the step of receiving a first sensor signal from a first vibrating flow meter. A second sensor signal is received from a second vibrating flow meter. A first flow rate is generated from the first sensor signal and a second flow rate is generated from the second sensor signal. The method further includes the step of determining a differential zero offset of the first vibrating flow meter based on the first and second flow rates.

A fluid flow system (300) is provided. The fluid flow system (300) includes a pipeline (302) with a flowing fluid. The fluid flow system (300) further includes a first vibrating meter (5) including a first sensor assembly (10) located within the pipeline (302) and configured to determine one or more flow characteristics, including a first flow rate. A second vibrating meter (5') including a second sensor assembly (10') located within the pipeline (302) is provided that is in fluid communication with the first sensor assembly (10) and configured to determine one or more flow characteristics, including a second flow rate. The fluid flow system (300) further includes a system controller (310) in electrical communication with the first and second vibrating meters (5, 5'). The system controller (310) is configured to receive the first and second flow rates and determine a differential flow rate based on the first and second flow rates. The system controller (310) is further configured to compare the differential flow rate to a threshold value or band and correct one or more flow characteristics if the differential flow rate is less than a threshold value or band.

A vibratory flow meter (5, 300) is provided. The vibratory flow meter (5, 300) includes a flow meter assembly (10, 310) including at least two vibration sensors (170L and 170R, 303 and 305) that generate at least two vibrational signals and meter electronics (20, 320) that receives the at least two vibrational signals, generate a new time difference (Δt) using multiple time difference measurements obtained for a flow material, and determine if the new time difference (Δt) is within predetermined bounds of an old time difference (Δt 0 ).

The measuring system comprises: a vibration element for guiding flowing medium and having a lumen; and a vibration element, which is adapted to be contacted, at least at times, by a part of the medium. A method and apparatus for operating a vibrating flow meter is provided. The method comprises the steps of receiving sensor signals from the vibrating flow meter and determining a current zero offset for the vibrating flow meter. The current zero offset can be determined based on the received sensor signals. The method also comprises the step of determining one or more current operating conditions. The one or more current operating conditions can be compared to one or more previous operating conditions of the offset correlation. The method also includes the step of generating an average zero offset if the offset correlation includes a previously determined zero offset corresponding to the current operating conditions. The average zero offset can be based on the current zero offset and the previously determined zero offset.
