Use of recycled construction and demolition materials in geotechnical applications: A review

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors provide a literature review on studies related to the valorisation of construction and demolition materials in geotechnical engineering applications, with an emphasis on their use as recycled aggregates in base layers of roadway infrastructures and as filling material for geosynthetic reinforced structures.
Journal ArticleDOI

Learning curve and complications of minimally invasive transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion.

TL;DR: The learning curve that describes the progress of a single surgeon performing the minimally invasive transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion (MI-TLIF) is defined to be 90% of the learning curve can be achieved at around the 40th case.
Journal ArticleDOI

Recycled Construction and Demolition Wastes as filling material for geosynthetic reinforced structures. Interface properties

TL;DR: In this article, the feasibility of using fine-grain recycled C&DW as filling material of geosynthetic reinforced structures (GRS) is evaluated. But, the potential contamination of groundwater by these recycled aggregates was evaluated through laboratory leaching tests and, excepting the values of sulphate and total dissolved solids (TDS), this recycled material complies with the provisions of European Council Decision 2003/33/EC for inert materials.
Journal ArticleDOI

Interface shear properties of geosynthetics and construction and demolition waste from large-scale direct shear tests

TL;DR: In this article, the results of physical, mechanical and environmental characterisation of recycled C&DW, as well as the direct shear behaviour of three recycled construction and demolition wastes (C&DW)-geosynthetic interfaces are presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

Intracranial aneurysm and vasculopathy after surgery and radiation therapy for craniopharyngioma: case report.

TL;DR: During the assessment of patients who have undergone postoperative radiotherapy, the potential for the development of aneurysms and radiation-induced vasculopathy exists and should be kept in mind.
