Estimation of induction motor efficiency in-situ under unbalanced voltages using genetic algorithms

TL;DR: In this article, an effective technique for estimating parameters, losses, shaft power and efficiency of three-phase induction motors in field conditions, is proposed, focused on the determination of the operating efficiency of motors under unbalanced voltages or deviated voltage and frequency without caring out special tests, removing the motors, or measuring the output power or torque.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Bacterial Foraging Algorithm application for induction motor field efficiency estimation under harmonics and unbalanced voltages

TL;DR: In this paper, a method based on the equivalent circuits, with losses segregation and using Bacterial Foraging Algorithm (BFA) was presented to determine under field conditions and low invasiveness, energy efficiency of induction motors operating under the before mentioned conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Identification of technoeconomic opportunities with the use of premium efficiency motors as alternative for developing countries

TL;DR: A methodology based on the calculation of energy-saving potential is proposed and shown to be effective by performing a preliminary an a priori evaluation and determining the economic opportunities and providing a complete economic evaluation of the final decision on the basis of discounted cash flow methods.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Estimating induction motor efficiency under no-controlled conditions in the presences of unbalanced and harmonics voltages

TL;DR: In this paper, a method to determine the output power, losses, and efficiency of induction motors, working in no-controlled conditions, in the presences of unbalanced and harmonics voltages, was presented.

A new energy performance indicator for energy management system of a wheat mill plant

TL;DR: In this article, a predictive tool for the energy consumption of wheat milling process using multiple linear regression and a new energy performance indicator (EnPI) is proposed This EnPI does not only consider the production of flour but also the particle size of flour and added water for softening wheat The results of the study, carried out in a wheat mill plant in Cuba, show a good coincidence between the predicted and real energy consumption.
