Server placement and path selection for QoS-enabled overlay networks

TL;DR: An algorithm based on standard ILP solution techniques and a number of heuristics were developed and these algorithms are compared with each other and with standard Internet routing in terms of acceptance rate, end-to-end delay and usage of the network bandwidth.
Proceedings Article

Planning of the fiber- and pathlayer of WDM networks

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the planning of working capacity in WDM networks and compared three solution techniques and compared the benefit of wavelength conversion, the choice of the fiber line system and the influence of cost parameter values.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Performance analysis of multicast routing algorithms

TL;DR: This paper provides a theoretical performance analysis of different classes of multicast routing algorithms, namely the Shortest Path Tree, the Steiner Tree, compact routing and greedy routing, and confronts these results to those obtained by simulation on the CAIDA map of the Internet topology comprising 32k nodes.
