Journal ArticleDOI

On the flexibility of agglomeration based physical space discontinuous Galerkin discretizations

TL;DR: This work shows that the flexibility of the discontinuous Galerkin (dG) discretization can be fruitfully exploited to implement numerical solution strategies based on the use of elements with very general shapes, and proposes a new h-adaptive technique based on agglomeration coarsening of a fine mesh.
Journal ArticleDOI

High‐order accurate p‐multigrid discontinuous Galerkin solution of the Euler equations

TL;DR: A p‐multigrid solution strategy has been developed, which is based on a semi‐implicit Runge–Kutta smoother for high‐order polynomial approximations and the implicit Backward Euler smoother for piecewise constant approximation.
