The scope of blockchain technology, initially associated with the cryptocurrency Bitcoin, is greater due to the multiple applications in various disciplines. Its use in accounting lies mainly in the fact that it reduces risks and the eventuality of fraud, eliminates human error, promotes efficiency, and increases transparency and reliability. This means that different economic sectors assume it as a recording and management instrument. The aim is to examine current and emerging research lines at a global level on blockchain technology for secure accounting management. The evolution of the publication of the number of articles between 2016 and 2020 was analyzed. Statistical and mathematical techniques were applied to a sample of 1130 records from the Scopus database. The data uncovered a polynomial trend in this period. The seven main lines of work were identified: blockchain, network security, information management, digital storage, edge computing, commerce, and the Internet of Things. The ten most outstanding emerging research lines are detected. This study provides the past and future thematic axes on this incipient field of knowledge, which is a tool for decision-making by academics, researchers, and directors of research investment programs.

Blockchain Technology for Secure Accounting Management: Research Trends Analysis

Abstract This study explores the use of blockchain in the course design and evaluation in Chinese universities, and explores the value of teachers’ views and experiences on blockchain in the course design. Previous studies have shown that blockchain has a positive effect on the improvement of online teaching management and evaluation quality. Most of the current research focuses on the management of online teaching by using blockchain, and this qualitative case study investigates the design and evaluation of online course based on blockchain by five teachers of different specialties. Semi-structured interviews and course materials were collected from five teachers for a TPACK framework analysis. The result of the survey emphasizes that the redesign of online courses based on blockchain can improve the matching between blockchain and courses, the quality of teaching and the trust of various parties in online education. The block chain-based the online course of both theory and practice design and evaluation, which is oriented by the index method of capability evaluation, is an appropriate idea and has achieved good results. The experimental course focuses on the integration of blockchain and experimental platform. The immersive and interactive course presentation and the personalized examination based on machine learning are effective. But follow-up should pay attention to the different requirements of course design of different disciplines, using a variety of data sources for analysis, to take measures to enhance the enthusiasm of teachers to adopt new technologies.

Online teaching research in universities based on blockchain

Abstract New technological developments, such as 5G networks, smart and interconnected devices, and the development of the Internet of Things (IoT), lead to a new reality in which the secure flow of data is non-negotiable. In this new reality, blockchain technology can play a crucial role, as it has the ability to provide the necessary background for the safe and inviolable operation of systems. Blockchain is a distributed ledger, in which information and data are stored and verified. These blocks of data do not have to be related to financial transactions but may concern any other type of data that needs to be securely recorded and not changed retrospectively. Although the first application of blockchain technology was about digital currency (Bitcoin), its usefulness is not limited to cryptocurrencies or the field of economics. Blockchain, especially in its last stage v3.0, has many applications in various sectors such as data storage, certification of products and services, government, insurance, health, science, and education. This paper focuses on the current and potential educational applications of blockchain and presents how this technology can be used to solve specific education problems. Nowadays, a variety of blockchain applications concerning the issue and storage of certificates and diplomas, the evaluation of learning outcomes, the support and the academic degree management, the protection of intellectual property, the cooperation between students and their professors, learning accreditation, payment for studies, formation of an academic passport (portfolio) or administration of the educational process are implemented in some HEI and institutions. The paper analyzes the features and advantages of blockchain technology, presents some of the current blockchain applications for education, as well as the benefits and challenges of using blockchain technology in the educational sector. Finally, special reference is made to applications related to the field of language learning.

Blockchain in Education - The Case of Language Learning

As one of the disruptive technologies in the fourth industrial revolution, Blockchain has irrevocably changed how people live and work. Many scholars have studied the Blockchain, and the number of related publications has increased over time. Bibliometrics is an excellent method to study the development trend of a specific field. However, few scholars have used bibliometrics to research Blockchain; the inheritance and evolution among its different research themes have not yet been fully understood. This study emphasizes the scientific evolution and research focus of Blockchain through bibliometric analysis. We analyzed 2993 publications from 2014 to 2020 using co-word analysis and cluster analysis with bibliometric tools such as the SciMAT. The most productive author, country, institutions and leading research areas were identified, outlining the Blockchain field’s fundamental developments. The results show the changes in keywords regarding Blockchain summarize the research hotspots in different periods. The study discusses the evolution process of various themes in each period, providing a meaningful reference for scholars to identify research hotspots and future research directions in the Blockchain field.

Bibliometric Analysis of the Blockchain Scientific Evolution: 2014–2020

Through a questionnaire survey, this study explored the factors affecting student participation in peer-assisted English learning (PAEL) based on online education platforms. Specifically, the authors constructed the system of PAEL contents, analyzed the online PAEL behaviors of students, and evaluated the student participation in online PAEL from both surface participation and deep participation. On this basis, the influencing factors of student participation in online PAEL were evaluated thoroughly. In the end, several countermeasures were presented to solve the problems with student participation in online PAEL. The results show that: the online PAEL face such problems like low-level knowledge structure and poor interaction quality, weak intensity of interaction, and inactive atmosphere of collaboration; In general, the students are not actively participating in online PAEL; the student participation in online PAEL is greatly affected by teachers, students, teaching contents, and online education platforms; the low participation in online PAEL mainly arises from the weak motives of students for online PAEL, the inadequate teaching design and supervision of teachers, and the imperfect functions of online education platform. The research enriches the theoretical and practical results on the factors affecting student participation in online PAEL.

Evaluation of Factors Affecting Student Participation in Peer-Assisted English Learning Based on Online Education Platform

To extend a broad application of blockchain technology to the fields of online English education, this paper aims to improve a virtual platform for English teaching and learning of landscape design majors, mainly composed of presentation layer, business layer, and data layer by analyzing the performance of the proposed algorithm, and comparing with other existing algorithms. In the platform, through the service layer, the communication between the presentation layer and the data layer is completed, and the data in the data layer is transferred to the presentation layer. The user first establishes a connection with the server in the presentation layer. Using the transmitted data information, the server assigns an identifier to the user and establishes a role model. Users can download the teaching courseware through the server and simulate the real learning scene by controlling the interaction of XAML files. The results show that the virtual teaching platform makes the interconnection of users (students and teachers), machines, and things at any time and any place; realizes information self-verification, transmission, deep unsupervised learning, and management; and gives students a more realistic visual experience in high security.
