A concept of GSM-based passive radar for vehicle traffic monitoring

TL;DR: The initial analysis shows that such GSM passive radar system used as a transmitter of opportunity GSM BTS stations for vehicle traffic monitoring can be successfully used to extract traffic parameters such as the average speed of vehicles and road capacity.
Journal ArticleDOI

Velocity measurement and traffic monitoring using a GSM passive radar demonstrator

TL;DR: The results presented in the paper show that a GSM-based PCL system can be used successfully in the future as a new system dedicated to speed control and traffic monitoring, both in urban areas and on small roads and highways.
Journal ArticleDOI

Passive bistatic SAR imaging — Challenges and limitations

TL;DR: In this article, a concept of passive bistatic SAR (PB-SAR) imaging using a spaceborne SAR radar transmitter of opportunity is presented, and the results of real passive SAR images are presented.
Proceedings Article

GSM based passive receiver using forward scatter radar geometry

TL;DR: The paper presents the methods to overcome the problem end to exploit high RCS of the target in forward scattering region.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Ground moving vehicles velocity monitoring using a GSM based passive bistatic radar

TL;DR: The concept presented is an alternative low-cost solution which can be successfully used in many applications where traditional active radars are nowadays commonly applied (e.g. speed control, traffic monitoring, etc.).
