Journal ArticleDOI
The association between positional vertebral and basilar artery flow lesion and prevalence of vertigo in patients with cervical spondylosis
TL;DR: Spondylotic-induced VA compression may be the reason for decreased blood flow velocity in the basilar artery during head rotation, which may be of particular importance for older patients, especially complaining of vertigo.
Journal Article
Evaluation of Transient and Distortion Product Otoacoustic Emissions before and after shooting practice.
TL;DR: Emissions appear to be more sensitive for monitoring early cochlear changes after shooting, than pure tone audiometry, than conventional puretone audiometry.
Journal ArticleDOI
Tinnitus suppression by electrical promontory stimulation (EPS) in patients with sensorineural hearing loss
TL;DR: EPS could be a method of treatment for persistent tinnitus in cases which fail to respond to other methods, and it is suggested that the mechanism of beneficial effects is due to increased microcirculation in part of the auditory pathways.
Journal ArticleDOI
Significance of CYCLOOXYGENASE-2(COX-2), PERIOSTIN (POSTN) and INTERLEUKIN-4(IL-4) gene expression in the pathogenesis of chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps
Jarosław Miłoński,Hanna Zielińska-Bliźniewska,Karolina Przybyłowska,Piotr Pietkiewicz,Barbara Korzycka-Zaborowska,Ireneusz Majsterek,Jurek Olszewski +6 more
TL;DR: An analysis of the expression level indicates the participation of POSTN and IL-4 in the development of chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps in patients with atopy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Electronystagmography versus videonystagmography in diagnosis of vertigo.
Piotr Pietkiewicz,Renata Pepaś,Wiesław J Sułkowski,Hanna Zielińska-Bliźniewska,Jurek Olszewski +4 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that the VNG should be recommended in preference as the valuable method to assess vertigo and to discriminate between the peripheral and the central vestibular lesions.
