Impatti, adattamento e vulnerabilita Le cause e le responsabilita dei cambiamenti climatici sono state trattate sul numero di ottobre della rivista Cda. Approfondiamo l’argomento presentando il documento: “Cambiamenti climatici 2007: impatti, adattamento e vulnerabilita” votato ad aprile 2007 dal secondo gruppo di lavoro del Comitato Intergovernativo sui Cambiamenti Climatici (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change). Si tratta del secondo di tre documenti che compongono il quarto rapporto sui cambiamenti climatici.

The Lancet Countdown on health and climate change: from 25 years of inaction to a global transformation for public health (vol 391, pg 540, 2017)

This paper challenges the validity and usefulness of the regime concept on five separate counts. These lead to two further and secondary (in the sense of indirect), but not less important, grounds for expressing the doubt whether further work of this kind ought to be encouraged. The five counts (or “dragons” to watch out for) are first, that the study of regimes is, for the most part a fad, one of those shifts of fashion not too difficult to explain as a temporary reaction to events in the real world but in itself making little in the way of a long-term contribution to knowledge. Second, it is imprecise and woolly. Third, it is value-biased, as dangerous as loaded dice. Fourth, it distorts by overemphasizing the static and underemphasizing the dynamic element of change in world politics. And fifth, it is narrow-minded, rooted in a state-centric paradigm that limits the vision of a wider reality.

Climate variability and its impacts on agriculture production and future prediction using autoregressive integrated moving average method (ARIMA)

This study was carried out to investigate the influence of carbon emissions and other socio-economic factors on global food security. Also, it creates global food security index (GFSI) for thirty one cross-country with different income groups from various regions of the World. In this study, Composite Z-index technique was employed in order to generate GFSI using several key determinants of food security. Subsequently, multiple linear regression models were also employed in order to assess the impacts of carbon dioxide emission and socio-economic factors on the constructed GFSI using country-wise panel data. The descriptive results of the study show that high income countries are the most food secured due to high cereal productivity, per capita land under cereal crops, per capita arable land, and high per capita gross domestic product. Developed countries have negligible poverty, constant population growth rate and less dependency on cereal import. Low and lower income group countries are in food insecurity trap due to rapid population growth, high infant mortality, high volatility in per capita food production and incidence of food-deficit. This study emphasized that lower middle and low income countries need to increase cereal production, in order to sustain food security. Based on the findings of this study, it is suggested that if the world's population grows at the current rate, then food insecurity would be more alarming in the near future. Empirical results recognized that per capita CO2 emission has negative impact on global food security negatively. Carbon emission and global food security: A cross country analysis

FDI is as an important vehicle for economic development as far as the developing nations are concerned. It has a key impact on country’s trade balance, increasing labor standards and skills, transfer of technology and innovative ideas, skills and the general business climate. This study analyzes the inflows of FDI as key factor on economic growth with panel data for the time period, 1991-2010. Three different models like FEM, REM, and PCSE were used for the analysis. GDP growth as a dependent variable, regressed with 6 different independent variables such as real GDP per capita in the year 1971, Population, Secondary school attainment in the year1971, Savings, Inflows of FDI, Inflation. To check the properties of panel data FEM and REM test are applied. To address the problem of heteroscedasticity, Modified Wald test for group wise heteroscedasticity in fixed effect regression test is used; Wooldridge test for autocorrelation in panel is used to identify the auto-correlation. PCSE method in GLS estimation was applied to remove the presence of multicollinearity, autocorrelation and heteroscedasticity in panel data set. ESG-Agency scholarship most commonly focuses on the global arena as well as Asia and Europe, with critical geographic gaps in Africa and the Middle East.− Climate change is the dominant issue studied in ESG-Agency research, followed by forests and fresh water. − To address the geographic imbalance in ESG-Agency research, scholars need to develop research projects and collaborations in understudied regions while also recruiting and supporting scholars in those regions to engage with this research agenda.
