Activation of hydration properties of iron ore tailings and their application as supplementary cementitious materials in cement
TL;DR: In this article, the effects of mechanical activation on the potential pozzolanic activity, hydration properties of iron ore tailings (IOTs), and their application as supplementary cementitious materials in cement were studied.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hydration kinetics and properties of cement blended with mechanically activated gold mine tailings
TL;DR: In this article, the hydration kinetics and properties of cement blended with raw and mechanically activated gold mine tailings were investigated, and the results showed that the activity index of the activated tailings was 82.88%.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mechanical activation as an innovative approach for the preparation of pozzolan from iron ore tailings
TL;DR: In this article, the reactivity of IOTs was characterized by comparing the pozzolanic activity and hydration properties of mechanically activated IOT, obtained by mechanical activation in a vertical planetary mill and amorphous ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBFS) with the similar specific surface area as IOT.
Journal ArticleDOI
Characterization of the mechanical properties and microcosmic mechanism of Portland cement prepared with soda residue
TL;DR: In this paper, the feasibility of the application of soda residue (SR) to the preparation of cement was studied, and four types of cements were synthesized using this additive agent: alinite, calcium chloroaluminate, and calcium chlorosilicate.

TL;DR: In this article, the gold ore tailings were used a siliceous raw material for cement production, and the results proved that the clinker phases of the cements produced with different addition of gold-ore tailings are 3CaO·SiO2, 2CaO•SiO•2, 3 CaO·Al2O3, and 4 CaO•Al•O3·Fe2O•3, respectively, and their hydration products are portlandite, calcium silicate hydrate, and ettringite.
