Localized corrosion behaviour of AA7150 after ultrasonic shot peening: Corrosion depth vs. impact energy
TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of impact energy on localized corrosion behavior of ultrasonic shot peened AA 7150 was systematically studied by manipulating peening parameters such as peening duration, peening amplitude, and peening distance.
Journal ArticleDOI
A comparison of AA2024 and AA7150 subjected to ultrasonic shot peening: Microstructure, surface segregation and corrosion
TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of ultrasonic shot peening on microstructure, surface segregation, localized and electrochemical corrosion of AA2024 was investigated using immersion test, OCP, EIS, polarization, XRD and SEM-EDS methods.
Journal ArticleDOI
The effect of surface contamination on corrosion performance of ultrasonic shot peened 7150 Al alloy
TL;DR: In this paper, a surface contamination layer was induced on AA 7150 surface during ultrasonic shot peening (USSP) treatment and its exfoliation evolution in solution containing HCl was investigated using immersion test, electrochemical impedance spectra (EIS), scanning kelvin probe force microscopy (SKPFM), SEM with energydispersive X-ray spectroscopy, XRD and TEM.
Journal ArticleDOI
Application of feedback control and in situ milling to improve particle size and shape in the crystallization of a slow growing needle-like active pharmaceutical ingredient
Yang Yang,Kanjakha Pal,Andy Koswara,Qingqing Sun,Yuqi Zhang,Justin Quon,Rahn McKeown,Charles A. Goss,Zoltan K. Nagy +8 more
TL;DR: This work studied and improved a batch cooling crystallization process for a GlaxoSmithKline patented API, which is characterized by very slow growth rate and needle morphology, using process analytical technology (PAT) based feedback control techniques and in situ immersion milling.
Journal ArticleDOI
Microstructure, corrosion behaviour and thermal stability of AA 7150 after ultrasonic shot peening
TL;DR: In this article, after ultrasonic shot peening, exfoliation susceptibility decreases, intergranular corrosion is inhibited for both normal and transverse planes, pitting potential shifts to the positive direction, attributed to the formation of equiaxed nano-grains on surface layer.
