Examination of anisotropy of the small-scale motion in a perturbed low Reynolds number turbulent boundary layer

TL;DR: In this paper, hot wire measurements have been made in a turbulent boundary layer subjected to concentrated suction applied through a porous wall strip in order, to examine the influence of suction on the anisotropy of the small-scale motion.
Journal ArticleDOI

Spectrum of a passive scalar in stretched grid turbulence at low Reynolds numbers

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors obtained approximately homogeneous isotropic turbulence by stretching a wind-tunnel grid flow with a 1.36:1 contraction, where the flow is mildly heated so that temperature serves as a passive scalar.

Bilans énergétiques à chaque échelle prenant en considération le mouvement cohérent

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors refine the approach of Reynolds and Hussain [1] in deriving scale-by-scale budgets for both organized and random fields, and particularly focus on the dynamics of the kinetic energy transfer induced by the presence of the organized motion in a turbulent wake.
