Journal ArticleDOI

The hatching of Hymenolepis diminuta eggs and penetration of the hexacanths in Tenebrio molitor beetles

TL;DR: Differences in the arrangement of the midgut tissues in adult and larval T. molitor were detected and shown to account for the failure of hexacanths to complete migration in the larvae.
Journal ArticleDOI

The chemical composition and some properties of the egg layers in Hymenolepis diminuta eggs

TL;DR: The protein eggshell of Hymenolepis diminuta eggs was not significantly stabilized by sulphur or electrovalent linkages but was resistant to attack by proteolytic enzymes and Amino acid analysis demonstrated a marked preponderance of aromatic and heterocyclic acids.
Journal ArticleDOI

In vitro hatching of Hymenolepis diminuta eggs in Tenebrio molitor extracts and in defined enzyme preparations.

TL;DR: The results of several experiments indicated that hatching involved two or more proteolytic enzymes that digested the cytoplasmic layer and embryophore and affected the release of hexacanths in a time comparable to that obtained with T. molitor extracts.
