Journal ArticleDOI

The Effect of the Level and Source and of a Change of Source of Dietary Fat on the Fatty Acid Composition of the Depot Fat and the Thigh and Breast Meat of Turkeys as Related to Age

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the effect of dietary fat on carcass composition and quality, and found that increasing the level of fat in the diet resulted in the deposition of fat that resembled the dietary fat in composition, the greatest similarity occurring at the higher level of added fat.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Effect of the Level and Source of Dietary Fat on the Growth, Feed Efficiency, Grade and Carcass Composition of Turkeys

TL;DR: The carcass fat of turkeys fed 9% soybean (SBO) or rapeseed oil (RSO) to 6 weeks of age was found to be very similar in fatty acid composition to the dietary fat.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Relative Value of Rapeseed and Soybean Oils in Chick Starter Diets

TL;DR: The beneficial effect of dietary fat in improving weight gains and feed efficiency of chickens and turkeys has been adequately demonstrated.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Effect of Dietary Fat and Storage Temperature on the Storage Stability of Turkey Meat

TL;DR: The instability of carcass fat of birds fed rapeseed oil in comparison to palm oil was associated with higher levels of linoleic and linolenic acids in the tissues.
