Journal ArticleDOI

The formation of shear structures in sub-stoichiometric tungsten trioxide

TL;DR: In this article, a single tungsten trioxide prepared by sublimation has been reduced in vacuo at temperatures up to 850°C. The microstructure of these crystals consisted predominantly of planar defects on {120} R planes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Crystallographic shear phases in the system TixWO3

TL;DR: The major components present were tungsten trioxide and crystallographic shear (CS) phases based upon {102, {103} and {001} CS planes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Phase relations in the oxygen rich region of the CrWO ternary system

TL;DR: In this article, the ternary Cr-W-O system at 1370$sup 0$K was determined using x-ray diffraction and electron and optical microscopy.
Journal ArticleDOI

The formation of zirconium tungsten bronzes of the perovskite type

TL;DR: In this article, the oxygen-rich corner of the ZrO2-WO3 -WO2 system has been studied by means of x-ray powder diffraction and electron microscopy at room temperature of specimens quenched from the preparation temperatures of 1000°C and 1100°C.
Journal ArticleDOI

The preparation and properties of an antimony sulphide glass

TL;DR: In this paper, a glass has been prepared in the Sb 2 S 3 PbS system at compositions very close to 80 mol % Sb S 3 : 20 mol % PbS. This glass displays a wide range of transparency from 4.5 to 16.5 μm and may be of interest for a number of infrared applications.
