A disaggregation algorithm for the optimization of stochastic planning models

TL;DR: The solution of the two-stage fixed recourse problem is considered, for which a sensitivity-based successive disaggregation algorithm is proposed, and several example problems are solved where the certainty equivalent problem involves millions of variables and constraints.

Optimization of stochastic planning models.

TL;DR: A successive disaggregation algorithm is developed based on extensive sensitivity analysis for guiding the decisions on how to repartition the aggregate probability space, which is guaranteed to converge to the exact solution in a finite number of iterations.
