Robert,Hans Schlitt,Kim Solez,Dale Snover,Eero Taskinen,Swan N. Thung,G. Weldon Tillery,Russell H. Wiesner,Derek G. D. Wight,James W. Williams,Hirohiko Yamabe +33 more
TL;DR: A panel of recognized experts in liver transplantation pathology, hepatology, and surgery agreed on a common nomenclature and a set of histopathological criteria for the grading of acute liver allograft rejection, and a preferred method of reporting.
Journal ArticleDOI
Epstein-Barr virus-associated syndromes in immunosuppressed liver transplant recipients. Clinical profile and recognition on routine allograft biopsy.
TL;DR: The clinical profile and histopathologic changes in needle biopsies of the liver were studied in 10 cases of acute Epstein-Barr virus infection occurring in liver transplant recipients, and recurrent viral syndromes occurred in four instances and one patient died of systemic lymphoproliferative disease.
Journal ArticleDOI
Analysis of the reversibility of chronic liver allograft rejection implications for a staging schema.
Karin Blakolmer,Eric C. Seaberg,Kenneth P. Batts,Linda D. Ferrell,R. S. Markin,Russell H. Wiesner,Katherine M. Detre,Anthony J. Demetris +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied demographic, perioperative, biochemical, and histologic features associated with reversibility or progression to graft failure and identified a subgroup of 23 of 916 patients receiving primary liver allografts with CR from the Liver Transplantation Database.
Journal ArticleDOI
Chronic Liver Allograft Rejection: A National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases Interinstitutional Study Analyzing the Reliability of Current Criteria and Proposal of an Expanded Definition
Anthony J. Demetris,Eric C. Seaberg,Kenneth P. Batts,Linda D. Ferrell,Randall G. Lee,R. S. Markin,Katherine M. Detre +6 more
TL;DR: Chronic rejection and other causes of late liver allograft dysfunction can be diagnosed reliably by a group of pathologists experienced with liver transplantation, and the diagnosis of CR correlates with clinical course and liver function abnormalities.
