General practice community-based exercise programmes for sedentary adults over 65 years of age

This paper describes a novel deep learning-based framework for biomedical name entity recognition. Bio-Entity name entity recognition task based on three different deep learning techniques: Feedforward Networks (FFNs), Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs), and Hybrid Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), has allowed better latent feature learning and discovery for the complex NLP task. The performance evaluation of the proposed framework with the BioNLP dataset corresponding to biomedical entity recognition task, has led to promising performance, when assessed in terms of F-measure, Recall and Precision. The best performing deep learner based on Hybrid CNN approach has resulted in an F-score of 70.32%, and surpassed the performance reported by other participants in the Challenge task.

Deep Learning Based Biomedical NER Framework

Objectives: To investigate whether exposure to a smoking-related facial age-progression techniqueimpacts on quit smoking cognitions, nicotine dependence, and self-reported and objectively assessedsmoking in young women in a randomized controlled trial. Methods: eighteen- to 34-year-old womensmokers ( nnot 70) were allocated at random to either an appearance-related intervention (plus usual care)or control (usual care) group. Women completed questionnaires assessing attitudes, subjective norms,perceived behavioral control and intention to quit smoking immediately before, immediately after, andfour weeks after receiving the intervention or usual care. At the first and last time points they alsocompleted measures of nicotine dependence and self-reported and objectively assessed smoking (breathcarbon monoxide levels). Results: The two groups were well matched at baseline. Using intention to treatanalyses and baseline as a covariate, women in the appearance-related intervention group compared tothe control group had significantly more positive attitudes, subjective norms, perceived behavioralcontrol, and intentions to quit smoking immediately after exposure. Only the effects on quit smokingattitudes remained significant at four weeks postintervention. Nicotine dependence and self-reportedsmoking (total cigarettes in last seven days), but not objective smoking, were significantly lower in theintervention compared with control group at four weeks. Conclusions: This study suggests that anappearance-related smoking intervention may be a useful adjunct to traditional cessation programs withyoung women smokers.Keywords: smoking, appearance-related interventions, women, nicotine dependence
