This and the subsequent papers in this special issue set out the contours of Marxian urban political ecology and call for greater research attention to a neglected field of critical research that, given its political importance, requires urgent attention. Notwithstanding the important contributions of other critical perspectives on urban ecology, Marxist urban political ecology provides an integrated and relational approach that helps untangle the interconnected economic, political, social and ecological processes that together go to form highly uneven and deeply unjust urban landscapes. Because the power-laden socioecological relations that shape the formation of urban environments constantly shift between groups of actors and scales, historical-geographical insights into these ever-changing urban configurations are necessary for the sake of considering the future of radical political-ecological urban strategies. The social production of urban environments is gaining recognition within radical and historical-materialist geography. The political programme, then, of urban political ecology is to enhance the democratic content of socioenvironmental construction by identifying the strategies through which a more equitable distribution of social power and a more inclusive mode of environmental production can be achieved.

Occupy Wall Street groups eschew specific goals or programs other than a general commitment to social justice and in part emerge as new political identities. They inscribe new ways of acting in concert and creating participatory modes of acting. They are also elements of a participatory public sphere that is deemphasized in Johnson and Knight’s experimentalism. Yet participatory democracy was what Dewey had in mind with his notion of a great community. It is better found in the deliberative democracy found in the Occupy movement than the planned experiments of Johnson and Knight. Democratic social movements suggest that democratic innovation requires a much broader notion of practical reason than Johnson and Knight suggest. Where Johnson and Knight see everyday social action as simple convention, from the participants’ perspective it is a reflexive form of mutual understanding. Social interaction takes place through structures of mutual accountability, in which our reflexivity extends to our own identities and ethical/moral frameworks. This notion of reflexive monitoring of action and the creation of new democratic forms, however, entails a communicative not a strategic notion of action.

This paper of analysis lists several statistical methods that are used to structure socio-
economic cleavages among them, such terms are the following: classical methods, 
methods based on information theory, methods of interdependence, dependence methods 
and other methods, such as structural equations, among others. Additional to the 
previously mentioned this study, will provide and find information on the concepts used, 
such as: methods that establish the location of the values and graphical representations 
of the results of each classification. 
The technique of Principal Components Analysis Nonlinear, also known as "ACP" in 
Spanish was used in this research and it is part of the multivariate analysis method, 
allowing the user/reader to work with brief qualitative variables either nominal or 
ordinal.
