Password-based authenticated key exchange is a popular method for secure authentication and key exchange. With the wide application of unmanned aerial vehicles, position information has also become an important factor in authentication. In this paper, we present a new key exchange protocol, which firstly realizes dual authentication for both password and position, and we propose two applicable scenarios for the PPAKE mechanism: one is unmanned aerial vehicle authentication, and the other one is authentication in the military base. By adding position authentication, the reliability of authentication has improved, and the difficulty of adversarial attacks also increases. Any arbitrary adversary who can listen, tamper, and send messages can only perform an online attack for password guessing at a specified position. Finally, we provide security proofs under the defined model.

A procedure for storage and retrieval of Digital information in DNA strings is discussed by constructing an error correction code which is capable of correcting indel errors and maintaining the stability of DNA strings. For correction of indel errors, Varshamov-Tenengolts algorithm is used. To maintain the stability of DNA code, Reverse-complementary property, and GC-content constraints are implemented by appropriate choices of group homomorphisms. Code for any desired length(n) can be created using the construction methods presented in this paper. The code's reverse complement distance is calculated using the value of n.

Indel Error Correction Codes for DNA Digital Data Storage and Retrieval

Achieving a secure positioning system is one of the most prominent issues in the field of wireless security. The central task of this paper is introducing a system that is provably secure for sharing the most sensitive data among the users in a peer-to-peer network. In such systems, the geographical position of the users or the nodes in the network plays a vital role in maintaining the security of the entire network especially for defence purpose. Apart from the existing bounded storage models, the system gives a positive result for 'secure positioning problem'. The designing of the proposed system is based on the network, where the public ledger is maintained by all the nodes independently without any central authority. This zero knowledge protocol proposed in this paper makes the search space size to grow exponentially, which is a major challenge for the intruder to prove their position.

Document or certificate verification is a crucial part wherein a document or certificate issued by an authority will be verified for its authenticity. In a typical system it will be performed through exchange of mails or post, it is a time consuming process and not foolproof due to human intervention. In an online system, the documents hosted on a third party server with negligible downtime guarantee will be downloaded and verified. But in such cases the trustworthiness of the documents hosted on these servers is questionable as the documents will be hosted in its original format and there are chances that it will be modified or altered. Trusting and protecting the documents from getting modified due to intentional attacks and other possible attacks are the issues to be addressed in online document verification system. To overcome these issues and design a foolproof system, in this paper, we propose an online document verification system based on Attribute Based Encryption (ABE). Third party server considered in this case can be either a cloud or a server taken from a service provider. This paper is aimed at providing access control for users to access the documents hosted online based on user's attributes. We show that the proposed scheme is robust against collusion attacks and hacking kind of attacks. Also, it encourages the authorities such as Universities, Autonomous institutions issuing documents for adopting the proposed Online Document Verification System.

Access control and data security in online document verification system

Achieving a reliable and secure communication is the major challenge in the context of data communication and storage. In this paper, Encode-then-Encrypt framework is defined using linear error correcting codes and elliptic curves to address these challenges as a single solution rather than addressing them separately. The working of the proposed framework is explained in detail by taking Reed-Solomon codes (with a set of encoding and decoding algorithms) and elliptic curves of characteristic 2 (with a set of encryption and decryption algorithms). We have outlined the advantages of using such elliptic curves and error correcting codes over any other cryptosystem defined in the existing literature. The proposed framework can be implemented as a part of any real-time communication system to ensure reliability and security.
