Hybrid nanofluid are considered as advanced nanofluid, as shown by their thermal properties and budding benefits that aid the drive of increasing the heat transfer rate. This article deals with the MHD natural convective flow of micropolar CuO-Ag/water hybrid nanofluid over a plate placed vertically in a porous medium with the involvement of the suction/injection at the surface of the plate, heat generation/absorption, Joule heating, viscous dissipation, and thermal radiation influence. The similarity transformations are used to translate the fundamental controlling PDEs to ODEs. After that, nonlinear ODEs are solved by means of the R−K−F 4–5th order method and shooting technique. The comparison between the behavior of solution profiles of temperature, micro-rotation and velocity distribution for suction and injection has been visualized graphically. The effect of different shape factors on the solution profiles is also discussed. The influence of the relevant flow parameters on the heat transfer and skin friction factor are also studied. The main observation is that the heat flow rate is higher with the injection effect than with the suction effect. 

Heat transfer in micropolar hybrid nanofluid flow past a vertical plate in the presence of thermal radiation and suction/injection effects

The current exploration focuses on the impact of homogeneous and heterogeneous chemical reactions on titanium dioxide-ethylene glycol (EG)-based nanoliquid flow over a rotating disk with thermal radiation. In this paper, a horizontal uniform magnetic field is used to regularise the flow field produced by a rotating disk. Further, we conduct a comparative study on fluid flow with and without aggregation. Suitable transformations are used to convert the governing partial differential equations (PDEs) into ordinary differential equations (ODEs). Later, the attained system is solved numerically by means of the shooting method in conjunction with the Runge–Kutta–Fehlberg fourth-fifth-order method (RKF-45). The outcome reveals that the fluid flow without nanoparticle aggregation shows enhanced heat transport than for augmented values of melting parameter. Furthermore, for augmented values of strength of homogeneous and heterogeneous reaction parameters, the mass transfer is greater in fluid flow with aggregation conditions.

Aspects of Uniform Horizontal Magnetic Field and Nanoparticle Aggregation in the Flow of Nanofluid with Melting Heat Transfer

In the last two decades, academicians have concentrated on the nanofluid squeezing flow between parallel plates. The increasing energy demands and their applications have seen the focus shifted to the hybrid nanofluid flows, but so much is still left to be investigated. This analysis is executed to explore the symmetry of the MHD squeezing nanofluid (MoS2/H2O) flow and the hybrid nanofluid (MoS2−SiO2/H2O−C2H6O2) flow between the parallel plates and their heat transport property. The heat transport phenomenon is analyzed with the magnetic field, thermal radiation, heat source/sink, suction/injection effect, and porous medium. In the present model, the plate situated above is in the movement towards the lower plate, and the latter is stretching with a linear velocity. The prevailing PDEs depicting the modeled problem with the aforementioned effects are transformed via similarity transformations and solved via the “bvp4c” function, which is an inbuilt function in MATLAB software. The control of the factors on the fields of velocity and temperature, heat transfer rate, velocity boundary layer patterns, and streamlines is investigated. The solution profiles are visually shown and explained. Furthermore, the Nusselt number at the bottom plate is larger for the (MoS2−SiO2/H2O−C2H6O2) hybrid nanofluid than for the (MoS2/H2O) nanofluid flow. In the presence of suction/injection, the streamlines appear to be denser. In addition, the magnetic field has a thinning consequence on the velocity boundary layer region. The results of this study apply to several thermal systems, engineering, and industrial processes, which utilize nanofluid and hybrid nanofluid for cooling and heating processes.

Analysis of Heat Transfer of Mono and Hybrid Nanofluid Flow between Two Parallel Plates in a Darcy Porous Medium with Thermal Radiation and Heat Generation/Absorption

This investigation aims to scrutinize the flow phenomenon, thermal and concentration variations of two different hybrid nanofluids flow induced by a curved surface. The novelty of the work is to examine the heat and mass transport phenomena of Ag–MgO/water hybrid nanofluid and Fe3O4 –CoFe 2O4 /water–ethylene glycol hybrid nanofluid under the influences of viscous dissipation, heat generation/absorption and chemical reaction using Buongiorno model. Suitable similarity transformations are implemented to convert the set of partial differential equation (PDEs) into non-linear ordinary differential equations (ODEs), and then shooting based Runge–Kutta–Fehlberg method of fourth fifth order (RKF45) via MATLAB is executed to achieve the numerical solution. The solution is discussed through graphs which provide a detailed physical clarification of each profile in terms of involved parameters effects. Also, the comparison of heat and mass transfer rates in both hybrid nanofluids is deliberated with the assistance of tables. It is noticed that the temperature profiles for both hybrid nanofluids grow high with a boost in the values of the viscous dissipation, heat generation/absorption and thermophoresis parameters. Moreover, the increasing values of thermophoresis parameter and chemical reaction parameter improve the mass transfer rate of both Ag–MgO/water hybrid nanofluid and Fe3O4 –CoFe 2O4 /water–ethylene glycol hybrid nanofluid. The proposed investigation shows the importance of these hybrid nanofluids in chemical, manufacturing and nuclear plants, solar technologies, etc.

An inclusive examination has been carried out numerically to explore the multiple physical prominences of steady MHD Von Kármán's flows of chemically reacting nanofluids that can be occurred over a rotating disk in the presence of a radially applied magnetic field, in the case where the disk surface is impermeable and heated convectively, in which the vertical nanoparticles’ mass flux has vanished practically. By applying the revised Buongiorno's formulation and Von Kármán's approach, the foremost conservation equations are derived properly in the context of the boundary layer theory. By applying an efficient differential quadrature algorithm, the boundary layer equations are treated numerically to generate accurate outcomes. As upshots, it is found that the nanofluid flow slows down meaningfully with the increase in the magnetic parameter. Significant enrichment in the temperature distribution and wall nanoparticles’ molar concentration can be achieved by mounting the magnetic parameter, the Schmidt number, and the chemical reaction parameter, whereas, the Prandtl number shows a reverse trend. It bears mentioning here that the convective heating reinforces the occurrence of the thermophoresis process.
