A battery charging system enables rapid recharging of a working battery without immediate access to ac power and without the need for current limit and/or overvoltage protection. The battery charging system makes use of a charging battery having a number of cells that is greater than the number of cells in the working battery. The charging battery produces a charging current that is proportional to the difference in the number of cells in each battery. In this manner, the battery recharging system is capable of rapidly recharging the working battery. The number of cells in the charging battery is selected, however, such that the series voltage of the charging battery cells is less than or equal to the maximum rated voltage of the working battery. Thus, the voltage of the charging battery is greater than the operating voltage of the working battery but less than or equal to the maximum voltage rating of the working battery. As a result, the charging battery is generally incapable of overcharging the working battery, and therefore does not require current limit and/or overvoltage protection circuitry.

Battery charging system and method

A secondary battery, such as a lead-acid or Ni-Cd battery which is normally operable in a first operational mode is treated for operation in a second operational mode. Thereafter the treatment can be effected again so that the battery can be operated in a manner similar to the first mode. This procedure can be repeated. The treatment comprises applying a charging current to the respective battery terminals such that a voltage for applying the charging current is directed so that a positive terminal of a charging input is applied to the first cathode terminal, and a negative terminal of the charging input is applied to the first anode terminal. The first cathode terminal is established as a second anode terminal and the first anode terminal is established as a second cathode terminal for operation of the battery on a load in the second operational mode.

Reconditioning lead acid batteries for optional use in a reverse operational mode

The invention relates to an electricity generation vehicle. An electricity generation carriage of the vehicle is arranged at the tail of a vehicle body, and the rear portion of the electricity generation carriage is provided with a pull door which can be opened or closed. A diesel oil three-phase alternator, a fuel cell generator, a storage battery and a power distribution box are arranged in the electricity generation carriage. A generator support is arranged at the top of the electricity generation carriage. A wind-driven generator is arranged on the generator support. At least one side portion of the electricity generation carriage is provided with a rotatable movable side plate. Solar cell panels are arranged at the top of the movable side plate and the top of the electricity generation carriage respectively. The diesel oil three-phase alternator, the wind-driven generator, the solar cell panels and the fuel cell generator are connected with the storage battery or are directly connected with a power supply circuit, and the storage battery is connected with the power supply circuit. An automatic power supply system circuit is arranged in the power distribution box. By the adoption of the electricity generation vehicle, power supplying of multiple power supply units is achieved through the diesel oil three-phase alternator, the fuel cell generator, the wind-driven generator, the solar cell panels and the storage battery so as to be adapted to various special environments.

Electricity generation vehicle

A battery charging system (10) includes a charger (12), power supply (14), electrical device (16), external battery (18), and peripheral device (20). The charger (12) provides connections between the various components such that the electrical device (16), which is a portable electronic device, may communicate with the peripheral device (20). The components are kept small by providing the power supply (14) with a feedback input (26). The power supply generates a voltage output (24) which is at a preselected differential above the feedback level, thus minimizing overhead voltage levels and allowing efficient linear regulation in the electrical device (16) for battery recharging.

Battery charging system

An apparatus comprises one or more image catching and sound reading assemblies each adapted to catch images and read sound, convert the images and the sound into image and sound signals, and send the image and sound signals in electromagnetic waves; and a power supply assembly distal from the image catching and sound reading assemblies and including a receiver circuit having an associated antenna for receiving electromagnetic waves containing the image and sound signals from the image catching and sound reading assembly and sending the processed images and sound signals to an AV player for display and broadcasting, and power supply means for supplying power to the AV player. The invention enables a user to monitor a person's (or persons') activities by watching screen of the AV player and listening to broadcasted sound.

Power supply with image catching, sound reading and output arrangement

A portable power supply is shown generally at 10. The power supply comprises a sealed rechargeable lead acid battery 11 to which is connected a charging circuit 12 for charging the battery 11. A switching unit 13 controls the switching of power from the battery 11 either to accessory sockets 14 or to power output leads represented by 15. Between the switching unit 13 and the power output leads 15 are a reverse-polarity protection circuit 16, a vehicle-start test/timer unit 17 and a stand by/monitor circuit 18, the operation of all of which will be described below. The power supply apparatus 10 is primarily for use in the supply of 12 V dc electrical power at locations remote from conventional electricity supplies. The battery 11, at the heart of the apparatus, can be recharged from either a domestic mains electricity supply, using an integral mains charger unit 19, or from a 12-18 V dc source, such as a vehicle cigar lighter socket, a photovoltaic solar cell array, a wind-driven generator etc. using an integral 12 V dc charger lead 20.
