Journal ArticleDOI

Fluorometric Determination of Primary and Secondary Amines in Blood and Urine after Thin-Layer Chromatography

TL;DR: 7-Chloro-4-nitrobenzo-2-oxa -1,3-diazole reacts with primary and secondary amines to produce highly fluorescent compounds, and thin-layer chromatography can be useful to identify qualitatively the drugs involved.
Journal ArticleDOI

Technique for Rapidly Separating Drugs from Biological Samples

TL;DR: With use of a sample/solvent ratio of 8.5 ml to 100 µl, certain drugs may be extracted efficiently from urine that has been saturated with a solid buffer and injected directly into a gas chromatograph to confirm some drugs of abuse.
