Journal ArticleDOI

Regulated deficit irrigation for crop production under drought stress. A review

TL;DR: In this article, the authors found that RDI is largely implemented through three approaches: (1) growth stage-based deficit irrigation, (2) partial root-zone irrigation, and (3) subsurface dripper irrigation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Produced water reuse for irrigation of non-food biofuel crops: Effects on switchgrass and rapeseed germination, physiology and biomass yield

TL;DR: In this article, the authors evaluated the response of switchgrass and rapeseed to treated produced water as an irrigation water source and found that the organic content of the produced water had a negative impact on biomass yield and physiological parameters of both species.
Journal ArticleDOI

Water-Food-Energy: Nexus and Non-Nexus Approaches for Optimal Cropping Pattern

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors compared the nexus and non-nexus approaches to propose an optimal cropping pattern that considers water, energy and economic parameters, and found that the nexus approach is the best.
Journal ArticleDOI

Enhancing the standardized drought vulnerability index by integrating spatiotemporal information from satellite and in situ data

TL;DR: This work attempts to evolve the SDVI by presenting a more rigorous method of index parameters estimation and argues that the combination of in-situ and satellite data improve the index results in an effort to further minimize the paucity of drought related information.
