Journal ArticleDOI
Methadone versus buprenorphine in pregnant addicts: a double-blind, double-dummy comparison study.
Gabriele Fischer,Romana Ortner,Klaudia Rohrmeister,Reinhold Jagsch,Andjela Baewert,Martin Langer,Harald N. Aschauer +6 more
TL;DR: This preliminary study had limited power to detect differences but the trends observed suggest this kind of research is practicable and that further studies are warranted.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evaluation of Esthetic, Functional, and Quality-of-Life Outcome in Adult Cleft Lip and Palate Patients:
TL;DR: Surgery of the lip and nose appears to be of prime importance for patients with a cleft lip and palate and patients with realistic expectations in regard to further treatment should be treated by specialists, whereas those with unrealistic expectations should be referred to a clinical psychologist.
Journal ArticleDOI
Buprenorphine versus methadone maintenance for the treatment of opioid dependence.
Gabriele Fischer,Wolfgang Gombas,Harald Eder,Reinhold Jagsch,Alexandra Peternell,Georg Stuhlinger,Lukas Pezawas,Harald N. Aschauer,Siegfried Kasper +8 more
TL;DR: The results support the superiority of methadone with respect to retention rate, but previous reports of buprenorphine use as an alternative in maintenance therapy for opiate addiction are suggested, suggesting that a speci® c subgroup may be bene® ting from bupenorphine.
Journal ArticleDOI
Treatment of opioid‐dependent pregnant women with buprenorphine
Gabriele Fischer,Rolley E. Johnson,Harald Eder,Reinhold Jagsch,Alexandra Peternell,Manfred Weninger,Martin Langer,Harald N. Aschauer +7 more
TL;DR: Buprenorphine appears to be well accepted by mother and fetus, and associated with a low incidence of NAS, and further investigation of buprenorphines as a maintenance agent for opioid-dependent pregnant women is needed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Management of neonatal abstinence syndrome in neonates born to opioid maintained women.
Nina Ebner,Klaudia Rohrmeister,Bernadette Winklbaur,Andjela Baewert,Reinhold Jagsch,Alexandra Peternell,Kenneth Thau,Gabriele Fischer +7 more
TL;DR: Results suggest that morphine hydrochloride is preferable for neonates suffering NAS due to opioid withdrawal, and compared two different NAS treatments (phenobarbital versus morphine hydro chlorine).
