Preoperative MRI and surgical management in patients with nonpalpable breast cancer: the MONET - randomised controlled trial.

TL;DR: Addition of MRI to routine clinical care in patients with nonpalpable breast cancer was paradoxically associated with an increased re-excision rate, and breast MRI should not be used routinely for preoperative work-up of patients withNonpalpables breast cancer.
Journal ArticleDOI

Prevention of futile sentinel node procedures in breast cancer: ultrasonography of the axilla and fine-needle aspiration cytology are obligatory.

TL;DR: By preoperative US and FNA of the axilla in patients with breast cancer, half of theAxillary metastases can be detected prior to surgery, and in more than a quarter of breast cancer patients, a futile SNP can be prevented.
Journal ArticleDOI

Breast MRI in nonpalpable breast lesions: a randomized trial with diagnostic and therapeutic outcome – MONET – study

TL;DR: This study aims to assess whether performing contrast enhanced Breast MRI can reduce the number of surgical procedures due to better preoperative staging and whether a subgroup of women with suspicious nonpalpable breast lesions can be identified in which the combination of mammography, ultrasound and state-of-the-art contrast-enhanced breast MRI can provide a definite diagnosis.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Added Diagnostic Value of Dynamic Contrast-Enhanced MRI at 3.0 T in Nonpalpable Breast Lesions

TL;DR: In the routine setting, MRI provided additional diagnostic information over clinical information and conventional imaging, as the Area Under the ROC Curve increased from 0.76 to 0.81 and expert MRI reading was associated with a stronger improvement of the AUC.
Journal ArticleDOI

Pseudoangiomatous Stromal Hyperplasia: Diagnosis, Treatment andFollow-Up; Description of a Case-Series

TL;DR: A series of 36 patients is described in terms of imaging, histopathologic findings, therapy and followup, and it should be noted that PASH may be an incidental finding not representative of the targeted lesion.
