Journal ArticleDOI

Protonation and deprotonation of polypyrrole chain in aqueous solutions

TL;DR: In this article, it has been shown that a polypyrrole (PPy) chain is sensitive to the pH of the solution and deprotonation has only a small effect on the electronic structure of the chain, causing only slight increase of the PPy conductivity.
Journal ArticleDOI

Conducting polypyrrole electrochemically prepared from aqueous solutions

TL;DR: In this paper, it is demonstrated without any ambiguity that the processes involved in electrochemical oxidation and reduction are actually charge transfer intercalation and de-intercalation of the counter ions in the polymer film.
Journal ArticleDOI

Studies on the chemical compensation of conducting polypyrrole by NaOH solution

TL;DR: In this article, the authors considered the process as a counter anion exchange between the intercalated anion and OH − in solution, and showed that the polypyrrole (PPy) chain can be further reduced to PPy 0.
Journal ArticleDOI

Studies on iodine doped thiophene oligomers

TL;DR: In this article, the authors compared the electrical and spectroscopic properties of individual thiophene oligomers, n=2−5, isolated and doped by iodine in the gas phase.
Journal ArticleDOI

Electrode potentials of electronically conducting polymer polypyrrole

TL;DR: In this article, the electrode potentials of polypyrrole film-coated Pt electrodes (PPy/Pt) and the effects of the solution pH, electrolyte concentration, temperature, and spontaneous counter anion exchange on the potentials have been studied.
