The insecticide composition is a foamable composition, including a first insecticide; at least one organic carrier selected from a hydrophobic organic carrier, a polar solvent, an emollient and mixtures thereof, at a concentration of about 2% to about 5%, or about 5% to about 10%; or about 10% to about 20%; or about 20% to about 50% by weight; about 0.1% to about 5% by weight of a surface-active agent; about 0.01% to about 5% by weight of at least one polymeric agent selected from a bioadhesive agent, a gelling agent, a film forming agent and a phase change agent; and (5) a liquefied or compressed gas propellant at a concentration of about 3% to about 25% by weight of the total composition.

Non-flammable insecticide composition and uses thereof

An energy demand controller having a sensor for measuring the instantaneous power being delivered to a building, a thumb wheel switch for preselecting a power limit for use in the building, and circuitry for comparing the instantaneous power to the power limit and to switch off power to various heating zones within the building in order to maintain the instantaneous power below the preselected power limit. The control circuitry includes a cycling circuit only operative when the instantaneous power exceeds the measured power to deactivate a sufficient number of heater circuits in order to drop the instantaneous power below the preselected power limit for a predetermined time interval only. At the end of the predetermined time period, the deactivated heater circuits are turned back on. If the instantaneous power still exceeds the preselected power limit, then other zone heaters of sufficient number are likewise deactivated in a second predetermined time interval. As long as the instantaneous power exceeds the preselected power limit when the predetermined time intervals terminate, the heater circuits, in similar fashion, will be cyclically turned off and on so that heat loss in any given area is minimized. When all heater circuits within the predetermined time interval are deactivated, and the instantaneous power still exceeds the power limit, then the hot water heater is deactivated. If the instantaneous power still exceeds the preselected power limit, an alarm will then sound to inform the inhabitant of the building to either increase the preselected power limit or to deactivate other electrical circuits within the building.

Energy demand controller and method therefor

A waterless composition suitable for delivery of an active agent to a body surface or cavity includes a vehicle having about 70% to about 99% by weight of a hydrophilic polar solvent, said hydrophilic solvent selected from the group consisting of (i) a mixture of two or more different polyethylene glycols (PEGs), wherein at least one PEG is a high molecular weight PEG having a melting point greater than 25° C.; and (ii) propylene glycol (PG); about 0% to about 10% of at least one surface active agent; about 0% to about 5% of a polymeric agent; about 0% to about 30% of a secondary hydrophilic solvent; and about 0% to about 5% of a silicone oil; and about 3% to about 25% hydrophobic propellant. The composition is otherwise substantially free of a hydrophobic solvent and includes at least one of a surface active agent and a polymeric agent. The vehicle and the propellant are sufficiently miscible that the components may be homogeneously distributed with mild shaking.

A demand controller for connecting and disconnecting loads from a power source has a plurality of control elements in two priority groups, an equal priority group and a set priority group. Loads are controlled by the control elements to be connected and disconnected. A control means directs signals for restoring and shedding the loads and for the priority between the two groups of control elements.
