TL;DR: In this article, a flexible cup member (12) with a rigid circular base (15) centrally secured to the upper surface of the cup member, opposite the central zone (24) of a suction device has been shown to self-set in a self-setting manner.
Abstract: A suction device (10) has a flexible cup member (12) whose lower surface defines a flat central zone (24) surrounded by an annular zone (26) sloping inwardly and upwardly at an angle of 2° to 10° with the central zone (24). An article holder, such as a beverage can receptacle (10), has a rigid circular base (15) centrally secured to the upper surface of the cup member, opposite the central zone (24) thereof. Any tilting or lifting of the article holder attendantly tilts or pulls the central zone (24) of the cup member (12) upwardly, thereby establishing a retentive suction in a self-setting manner.
