The purpose of the paper is to visualize the priorities of important factors towards the status of Industry 4.0 implementation in Indian manufacturing industries by utilizing the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and analytic network process (ANP) techniques.,Based on a review of relevant literature, the authors recognized four criteria and 16 critical factors that have been validated by academic and industry experts. AHP and ANP models are then developed to evaluate the requirements and essential elements of the Industry 4.0 implementation. The outcomes were validated with the aid of sensitivity analysis.,The above models offer the industry a clear and straightforward way to understand the critical factors in the status of Industry 4.0 implementation. The two techniques have emerged to be influential in deciding the status of Industry 4.0 implementation. The two methods yielded almost identical outcomes. Both methods take into account the industry's specific needs based on their available capacity.,Decision-makers and specialists will use the strategies discussed in this paper to effectively include the implementation status of Industry 4.0 in their industries, based on their ability to make arrangements for proper implementation of Industry 4.0 and to concentrate on top priority factors when implementing Industry 4.0 at their workplace.,The contribution of this research is that it is the first to be carried out with a view to both AHP and ANP to analyze important factors regarding the implementation status of Industry 4.0 and authentication through sensitivity analysis methods; this is a recent initiative in Industry 4.0.

Evaluating strategies for environmental sustainability in a supply chain of an emerging economy

Climate change has arisen as one of human beings' most significant threats. A higher proportion of carbon dioxide emissions are produced from developing countries as manufacturing globalization requires more and more emerging nations. The predicament between carbon reduction and fast industrial development makes firms in developing countries reluctant to take thoughtful commitment and actions in carbon dioxide emission reduction in their global manufacturing practices. Sustainability, green, and low-carbon supply chain networks research is still also in its infant stage from a theoretical perspective and requires further research and development. Therefore this research aims to address the research question: “Why and how organizations are adopting sustainable strategies in developing countries to increase sustainable supply chain management practices in the manufacturing?“. In order to thoroughly analyse the literature, this paper used ATLAS.ti 9 software tools to save, identify, and assess the data for this study. We reviewed, compiled, and sorted papers from 326 publications for this article and then recognized 141 as critical to the work scope. The results reveal that the organization's current concentration is on improving internal environmental efficiency related to its mid-stream SCM activities. The introduction of environmental practices at the external level (downstream and upstream) is relatively limited, and few organizations are collaborating effectively with supply chain partners to improve their SSCM performance. The results also show that organizational performance, reputation/risk management, customer pressure, and top management support are primary motivators for organizations to embrace SSCM practices. The typology suggests that companies need to consider and recognize their key sustainability risk in the past, current, and future to have a simple organizational design to innovative management methods to handle their sustainable supply chain practices.

Green and low carbon matters: A systematic review of the past, today, and future on sustainability supply chain management practices among manufacturing industry

Global sustainability movement encourages companies to adopt and implement green supply chain management (GSCM) practices across the organization. Moreover, the integration of green practices into traditional supply chain is still to be a difficult task in manufacturing sector. However, empirical studies regarding the identification of influential factors affecting GSCM adoption among supply chain managers in manufacturing sector are under researched. This study assesses the factors affecting GSCM adoption in Jordan manufacturing firms. A well-structured questionnaire was administered for data collection. A valid 376 responses were collected from different manufacturing firms in Jordan. The data were analyzed, and the proposed model was validated using the structural equation modeling (SEM) approach. Results reveal that four factors, namely, supplier, environmental, customer, and cost factors significantly influence the intention to adopt GSCM among managers. The firm size had significantly moderated the relationship between market/financial and GSCM adoption, internal factor and GSCM adoption. The study will help the policymakers to understand the drivers of GSCM adoption among managers and assist them in implementing GSCM practices according to the size of the firm. This study is first of its kind to analyze the role of firm size as a moderator on the relationship between market/financial, supplier, governmental, environmental, internal, customers, cost factors, and GSCM in the context of Jordon.

Factors affecting managers’ intention to adopt green supply chain management practices: evidence from manufacturing firms in Jordan

In recent years, environmental protection and sustainability have become significant issues and have attracted everyone's attention. And many organizations are now interested in using it as their strategy to gain customer satisfaction and market share and outperform competitors. This article aims to identify and prioritize the main factors that implement green supply chain management (GSCM) in the construction industry. To achieve the goal, the integrated approach combining is fuzzy decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory (FDEMATEL) and fuzzy analysis network Process (FANP) developed. The parameters employed are in this approach identified through an extensive literature review, and validation is criteria introduced through the experts’ opinions to discuss data uncertainty. First, the FDEMATEL method sets up the interrelationships between the criteria, which used for determining are the most important factors in the GSCM approach. Then, the local weight of the criteria calculated using the FANP approach based on cause and effect relationships, and through the FDEMATEL method. The results of this study show that external factors are the most important and influential factors in the GSCM approach, Therefore, the findings of this study can guide managers to make better use of the GSCM approach in the Iranian construction industry.

Identifying and prioritizing the effective factors in the implementation of green supply chain management in the construction industry

Construction industries play a major role in Indian economy and are also a major cause for degradation of the environment. India has felt the need for adopting environmental management practices in the construction industry. Green supply chain management (GSCM) is a tremendous concept which incorporates environmental issues in traditional supply chain management. Many industries have started to use GSCM and it will be appropriate if the Indian construction industry also falls into place. The objective of the present study is to analyze and prioritize the most important drivers for the implementation of GSCM in the Indian construction industry. From the literature review and discussion with experts 27 drivers were identified under 7 categories. This study was carried out among employees of different contractors/developers in the National Capital Region, consisting of New Delhi, Gurgaon and Noida, which is the hub of the construction industry. Most important drivers for the GSCM adoption are ranked with the help of Analytic Hierarchy Process approach through expert judgments. The Government category was identified as the most important category followed by market, supplier, customer, internal drivers and finally environment. This paper has tried to present a bench-marking framework for ranking the drivers for implementation of GSCM. This has been done to make it easier for the Indian construction industries to make decisions on implementing GSCM.

Identification and prioritization of motivational factors for the green supply chain management adoption: case from Indian construction industries

Polynomial commitment schemes allow a prover to commit to a polynomial and later reveal the evaluation of the polynomial on an arbitrary point along with proof of validity. This object is central in the design of many cryptographic schemes such as zero-knowledge proofs and verifiable secret sharing. In the standard definition, the polynomial is known to the prover whereas the evaluation points are not private. In this paper, we put forward the notion of private polynomial commitments that capture additional privacy guarantees, where the evaluation points are hidden from the verifier while the polynomial is hidden from both. We provide concretely efficient constructions that allow simultaneously batch the verification of many evaluations with a small additive overhead. As an application, we design a new concretely efficient multi-party private set-intersection with malicious security and improved asymptotic communication and space complexities. We demonstrate the concrete efficiency of our construction via an implementation. Our scheme can prove $$2^{10}$$ evaluations of a private polynomial of degree $$2^{10}$$ in 157 s. The proof size is only 169 KB and the verification time is 11.8 s. Moreover, we also implemented the multi-party private set intersection protocol and scale it to 1000 parties (which has not been shown before). The total running time for $$2^{14}$$ elements per party is 2,410 s. While existing protocols offer better computational complexity, our scheme offers significantly smaller communication and better scalability (in the number of parties) owing to better memory usage.

Private Polynomial Commitments and Applications to MPC

Zero-knowledge proofs allow a prover to convince a verifier of a statement without revealing anything besides its validity. A major bottleneck in scaling sub-linear zero-knowledge proofs is the high space requirement of the prover, even for NP relations that can be verified in a small space. In this work, we ask whether there exist complexity-preserving (i.e. overhead w.r.t time and space are minimal) succinct zero-knowledge arguments of knowledge with minimal assumptions while making only black-box access to the underlying primitives. We design the first such zero-knowledge system with sublinear communication complexity (when the underlying $$\textsf {NP}$$ relation uses non-trivial space) and provide evidence why existing techniques are unlikely to improve the communication complexity in this setting. Namely, for every NP relation that can be verified in time T and space S by a RAM program, we construct a public-coin zero-knowledge argument system that is black-box based on collision-resistant hash-functions (CRH) where the prover runs in time $$\widetilde{O}(T)$$ and space $$\widetilde{O}(S)$$ , the verifier runs in time $$\widetilde{O}(T/S+S)$$ and space $$\widetilde{O}(1)$$ and the communication is $$\widetilde{O}(T/S)$$ , where $$\widetilde{O}()$$ ignores polynomial factors in $$\log T$$ and $$\kappa $$ is the security parameter. As our construction is public-coin, we can apply the Fiat-Shamir heuristic to make it non-interactive with sample communication/computation complexities. Furthermore, we give evidence that reducing the proof length below $$\widetilde{O}(T/S)$$ will be hard using existing symmetric-key based techniques by arguing the space-complexity of constant-distance error correcting codes.
