Advancements in the field of autonomous underwater vehicle

Underwater communication remains a challenging technology via communication cables and the cost of underwater sensor network (UWSN) deployment is still very high. As an alternative, underwater wireless communication has been proposed and have received more attention in the last decade. Preliminary research indicated that the Radio Frequency (RF) and Magneto-Inductive (MI) communication achieve higher data rate in the near field communication. The optical communication achieves good performance when limited to the line-of-sight positioning. The acoustic communication allows long transmission range. However, it suffers from transmission losses and time-varying signal distortion due to its dependency on environmental properties. These latter are salinity, temperature, pressure, depth of transceivers, and the environment geometry. This paper is focused on both the acoustic and magneto-inductive communications, which are the most used technologies for underwater networking. Such as acoustic communication is employed for applications requiring long communication range while the MI is used for real-time communication. Moreover, this paper highlights the trade-off between underwater properties, wireless communication technologies, and communication quality. This can help the researcher community by providing clear insight for further research.

Clustering is an unsupervised classification that is the partitioning of a data set in a set of meaningful subsets. Each object in dataset shares some common property- often proximity according to some defined distance measure. In this paper we will extend our previous work [15]. Simple K-means and Proposed makeDensityBased    Clustering (MDBC) are embedded in RBF Neural Network (RBFNN). We evaluated the performance of  RBFNN using K-Means and Proposed makeDensityBased Clustering on Liver Disorder Dataset. Proposed algorithm is superior to the existing makeDensityBased Clustering algorithm [15], but it is not capable of performing well when it is embedded with RBFNN.

Due to widespread applications and an orientation towards dimensionality enhancement, the underwater sensor networks (UWSNs) are going to be in demand for today's researchers. The core idea to design a strong and reliable build under the water revolves around the master plan of sensor deployment. The quality parameters like coverage, connectivity, and network lifespan, etc. are considered as main pillars for these deployment plans. There is always a trade-off between these quality parameters. So, it is quite necessary to maintain a balance among these parameters in order to establish a successful communication system. In this chapter, the authors have categorized the node deployment plans on the basis of the above-stated quality parameters. During this categorization, the view of dimensionality enhancement from two dimensions to three dimensions is also kept in the mind.

Quality Enhancement in Underwater Sensor Networks Through Node Deployment Plans: A Performance-Based Classification

Cropland suitability assessment is an essential technique for agricultural development and future planning. It is an evaluation to determine how suitable the land is for growing a specific crop in a particular region based on multiple parameters like soil, climate, topography, socio-economic condition, infrastructure, irrigation, existing land use/land cover and environmental aspects. The paper presents different multi-criteria evaluation (MCE) techniques such as Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process (FAHP), Analytic Network Process (ANP), Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) and ELimination Et Choice Translating REality (ELECTRE) approaches integrated with geospatial technology, namely remote sensing and Geographical Information System for cropland suitability assessment. Review findings indicate that the AHP technique was used by53% of the researchers, followed by FAHP (16%); ANP (6%); TOPSIS (6%); ELECTRE (3%) and other techniques (16%) with or without geospatial technology. The integrated approach of MCE with geospatial was used by 69%, among which AHP technique of MCE was used by 72%; whereas, 22% used geospatial and 9% used MCE techniques alone. The results from the selected research articles also indicated that the most important input parameters were soil, topography and climate used by 97%, 88% and 74% of the researchers, respectively. The review can be helpful for researchers and decision-makers to select the most robust methods and standard parameters required for cropland suitability assessment to achieve higher agricultural production on a sustained basis. 

Cropland suitability assessment using multi criteria evaluation techniques and geo-spatial technology: A review

Many network designers utilize various algorithms for the design of ad hoc networks and compare their results with the existing approaches. The design of efficient network protocol is a major challenge in vehicular ad hoc network which utilizes the value of GPS and other parameters associated with the vehicles. In this paper GPSR protocol is improved and compared with the existing GPSR protocol and AODV protocol on the basis of various performance parameters like throughput of the network, delay and packet delivery ratio. An Improved Greedy Parameter Stateless Routing In Vehicular Ad Hoc Network

Abstract The paper represents a Punjabi corpus in the agriculture domain. There are various dialects in the Punjabi language and the main concentration is on major dialects, i.e. Majhi, Malwai and Doabi for the present study. A speech corpus of 125 isolated words is taken into consideration. These words are uttered by 100 speakers, i.e. 60 Malwi dialect speakers (30 male and 30 female), 20 Majhi dialect speakers (10 male and 10 female) and 20 Doabi dialect speakers (10 male and 10 female). Tonemes, adhak (geminated) and nasal words are selected from the corpus. Recordings have been processed through two mediums. The paper also elaborates some distinctive features of the corpus. This corpus is of quite significance for the speech recognition system. Prosodic characteristics such as intonation, rhythm and stress create a crucial impact on the speech recognition system. These characteristics vary from language to language as well as various dialects of a language. This paper portrays a comparative analysis of isolated words prosodic features of Malwi, Majhi and Doabi dialects of Punjabi language. Analysis is done using the PRAAT tool. Pitch, intensity, formant I and formant II values are extracted for toneme, adhak, nasal (bindi) and nasal (tippi) words. For all kinds of words, there is a significant variation in pitch (fundamental frequency), intensity, formant I and formant II values of male and female speakers of Malwi, Majhi and Doabi dialects. A detailed analysis has been discussed throughout this paper.
