Provided is longitudinal groove forming technology that is easy to execute. A longitudinal groove forming instrument 11 is provided on a base plate bottom face of a screed 7, 8 . The longitudinal groove forming instrument 11 comprises a plurality of beam members 12 . The beam members 12 are disposed in parallel with the direction of travel of the screed as the axial direction. A longitudinal groove 20 is formed by the beam members 12 pressing into a leveled face when leveling a pavement face and moving in the direction of travel for leveling while the beam members are being pressed down.

An apparatus for shaping pavement, the apparatus comprising: a pavement-shaping member for receiving a flow of shapeless pavement material and generating a flow of shaped pavement material; and a paving machine mount, operably coupled to the pavement-shaping member, for coupling the pavement-shaping member to a paving machine, the pavement-shaping member comprising a concave pavement-shaping surface being disposed at a pavement ramp angle less than about 45 degrees and having a single radius of curvature less than about 60 inches.

Apparatus for shaping pavement

The screed plate apparatus and method has a road paver/finisher, screed plate, and material matting apparatus having a power source and structural/conductor plate. Paving material is loaded into the material matting apparatus and applied homogeneously as a paving mat to a road surface in a road paver/finisher travel direction. The structural/conductor plate is attached to the road paver/finisher and to the screed plate to provide indirect heat to the screed plate. The screed plate bottom side has differing forms of textured surface impacting the paving material, by differing corrugations of differing patterns, into a more homogeneous consistency. The corrugated pattern may be oriented parallel or perpendicular to the paver travel direction, and/or progressively flattening or set in a crisscross rhombic pattern. A vibrating and oscillating mechanism operates horizontally and vertically upon the screed plate providing a homogeneously sorting on the paving material.

Screed plate apparatus and method for homogeneously applying paving material to a road surface

A member, screed and method for realigning material and compacting. A material realigning member is provided including structure for moving at least a first portion of a depth of a quantity of material laterally from an initial position thereof and then at least a second portion of the depth of the quantity of material back towards the initial position. In this fashion, aggregate particles may be moved in three horizontal directions, e.g., a direction of travel by a roller waveform, and both lateral directions by the invention, to realign material and allow for improved compaction.
