A network media delivery system includes client devices and a host device. Each client device has a network interface, an engine for processing media data, and a media interface. The host device, which can be a computer, establishes network communication links with the client devices, which can be networked media stations, and sends media data to the client devices. In one embodiment, the host device controls processing of media data such that processed media is delivered in a synchronized manner at each of the client devices. Methods and apparatuses for synchronizing a system clock of a computer via a local gateway are described herein. In one embodiment, a local clock of a gateway device is periodically synchronized with a remote time service facility over an external network. The synchronized local clock of the gateway device is then used to synchronize a system clock of one or more clients over a local network without having the clients individually to access the remote time service facility. Disclosed herein is a system for enhancing the security of wireless networks. In one aspect, a wireless access point that functions as a bridge between two networks is provided. The wireless access point is configured to establish separate associations for itself and each device connected to it. This provides for enhanced security in that each device connected to the wireless access point may be separately authenticated and in that separate encryption tunnels are established for each device connected to the wireless access point.
