Core Values

This study aims to examine the mediating role of entrepreneurial skills developed by undergraduates (ESDU) in the relationship between entrepreneurship education (EE) and the core values of sustainable development (CVSD).,This is a correlational study that used a structured questionnaire for quantitative data collection from 399 purposively selected Nigerian university undergraduates.,The results confirmed the statistically significant and positive mediating role of ESDU on the relationship between EE and the CVSD.,This study has contributed to the mediating role of ESDU in the relationship between EE and the CVSD. This interrelationship can further provide a better understanding or insights into how ESDU can help mediate the relationship between EE and the CVSD.

Entrepreneurship education and sustainable development: mediating role of entrepreneurial skills

This study aims to determine and describe the relationship between financing management and the quality of diniyah education in Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah Awaliyah in the Bandung Regency. This study uses a quantitative approach. The data collection technique is done by distributing questionnaires (questionnaires) and documentation with a sample of 37 people. The data analysis techniques used are research instrument trials, partial analysis, correlation analysis, and coefficient of determination (contribution) analysis. The results showed that the achievement of financing management and the quality of diniyah Takmiliyah Awaliyah education in Bandung Regency showed a significant relationship between financing management and the quality of diniyah education. The linearity test of financing management (X) and the quality of diniyah education (Y) obtained a value of F = 1.611 with a significance level of 0.218, so it can be interpreted that it has a positive and significant linear relationship. This study has implications for the importance of effective financing management in improving the quality of madrasah.

Correlation of financing management towards the quality of education in madrasah diniyah takmiliyah awaliyah in bandung district

The current study examines the correlation between TVET studentsâ€™ potential abilities and self-employment start-up intentions. The participants of the survey were 209 students of Nigerian TVET Institutions. Using a Bivariate Pearson Correlation Matrix and Simple Linear Regression tests of relationships, the results revealed a significant relationship between TVET studentsâ€™ potential abilities and self-employment start-up intentions. More specifically, the results revealed significant correlations among communication and collaboration skills, critical thinking and problem solving skills, managerial and leadership skills, flexibility and adaptability skills, lifelong learning and self-direction skills and the intentions of TVET students to engage in self-employed business. Contrarily, the results show that there is no correlations between creative and innovative skills, ICT literacy and numeracy skills, social and cross-cultural skills, desirability and feasibility skills and the intentions of TVET students to engage in self-employed business upon graduation. Students’ Potential Abilities as Correlates of Self-Employment Start-Up Intentions: Evidence from Private Sector-Led Technical and Vocational Education Institutions in Nigeria

The study assessed human resource management strategies for enhancing employees’ motivation in Edo State. Four research questions guided the study. The study size was 182 business educators in tertiary institutions in Edo and Delta States. The descriptive survey design was used for this study. The instrument used was validated by three experts. Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation coefficient was used to compute reliability of the instrument which yielded a correlation coefficient of 0.71. Data collected were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Means were used to answer all the research questions. From the results of the analysis, it was discovered that employers empowered their employees to very low extent; employers rewarded their employees to high extent; employers redesigned employees’ jobs to low extent, and employers created flexible jobs for their employees to low extent respectively. Consequently, it was recommended that workers should be sufficiently empowered to enhance higher performance and more productive. This will also go a long way to reduce attrition rate, the use of verbal praise, allowing workers’ personal development should be given priority attention by management to enhance higher productivity, management should redesign tasks/jobs from time to time so as to enhance motivation, job satisfaction, commitment to reduce absenteeism and turnover, among others.

Human resource management motivational strategies for enhancing business educators’ job performance in tertiary institutions in Edo and Delta states, Nigeria

The study assessed Union bank core values for customers’ service delivery in Edo State. The study was guided by three research questions and a null hypothesis tested. A sample of 100 respondents gave credence to the study using an accidental sampling technique. A descriptive survey was employed. The reliability of the instrument was 0.87 using Cronbach alpha formula. A structured questionnaire was the instrument to collect data. Mean and standard deviation was used to answer the research questions, while t-test for the hypothesis. From the result, it was discovered that the Union bank core values that influence customers’ service delivery are integrity, collaboration, and respect. The two groups of customers used for the study did not show any significant difference on customers’ service delivery in Union bank, hence the null hypothesis acceptance. Consequently, it was recommended that banks should provide a feedback mechanism that will allow customers to make constructive criticism of their operations for service delivery. Regulatory agencies in the banking sector should ensure banks adhere to their core values for customers’ satisfaction to improve turn over. Furthermore, Union banks should engage in periodic training for staff on their core values so as to engender proper application in customer dealings. Finally, recommendations were made for further studies such as determinants influencing effective customers’ service delivery by commercial banks.

Technical and vocational education and training skills: an antidote for job creation and sustainable development of nigerian economy

The study assessed the influence of value creation on job satisfaction of vocational educators in tertiary institutions in Edo and Delta States. One research question was raised and one hypothesis was formulated and tested at 0.05 level of significance. The study adopted a survey research design. A sample of 189 (one hundred and eighty nine) vocational educators was used for the study. The instrument was validated by three experts. Cronbach Alpha was used to compute the reliability of the instrument and yielded 0.98. A questionnaire titled Value Creation and Job Satisfaction Questionnaire (VCJSQ) was administered on the respondents by the researchers with two research assistants. The data collected revealed that some vocational educators expressed dissatisfaction that value created by them is not met by their employers, while some other expressed satisfaction that management met the value created by them. There is a significant difference in job satisfaction between male and female vocational educators. Based on these findings, it was recommended that vocational educators’ job satisfaction in tertiary institutions in Edo and Delta States could be enhanced by management and councils of various tertiary institutions if adequate attention is paid to the welfare of vocational educators in terms of regular promotion, enhanced remunerations, guaranteed job security, adequate social support system. Efforts should also be made to meet the demands of vocational educators through on-the-job training to strengthen their motivation, satisfaction and commitment to minimize turnover or attrition rate. Additionally, promotion decisions on vocational educators should be based on merit and equity to increase job satisfaction and higher productivity.

Value creation: A catalyst to job satisfaction of vocational educators in tertiary institutions in selected states of Nigeria

The aim of the study was to examine the use of modern technology for teaching by business educators in COVID-19 Era in public universities in Edo State. The population of the study was one hundred and eighty nine (189) business educators in universities in Edo and Delta States as at January, 2021. The entire population was used for the study; therefore there was no sampling. Three research questions gave credence to the study and one hypothesis was formulated. A descriptive survey was adopted for the study, and a 32-item structured questionnaire was used for data collection. Four experts validated the instrument. The reliability was tested using Cronbach alpha which yielded 0.82 was obtained as reliability co-efficient value. The data collected were analyzed using descriptive statistics of mean and standard deviation to answer the research questions. The formulated null hypothesis was tested at 0.05 alpha level with a t-test inferential statistics. The findings revealed that business educators make use of moodle/sloodle; online collaboration; and crowdsourcing to a very low extent in teaching during this COVID-19 era. The finding further revealed that male lecturers do not differ significantly from female lecturers in the use of modern technology in teaching. Against this back drop it was recommended that management of various institutions should embark on training of its staff for the use of modern technology to teach during the COVID-19 era.
