Does a green supply chain improve corporate reputation? Empirical evidence from European manufacturing sectors

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to explore the possible congruence of an academic organization’s reputation among various stakeholder groups. A potential measure of reputation that can be applied across multiple stakeholder groups gives an opportunity to compare their perceptions and therefore work toward a consistent reputation. The authors also tested the model of academic reputation as a multidimensional concept. Design/methodology/approach – The qualitative stage included 25 in-depth interviews with members of key stakeholder groups. In the quantitative stage, the initial questionnaire was based on the reputational quotient of academic institutions, comprised of 26 items representing eight dimensions of reputation. Exploring academic reputation – is it a multidimensional construct?

Pipeline damage consequence assessment is performed to determine the losses due to a failure event, including human, asset, production and environmental loss. Another failure impact – reputation loss – is in contrast commonly excluded due to its qualitative nature, even though pipeline failure events can greatly endanger a pipeline operator's post-accident reputation. Thus, a comprehensive review on the identification of pipeline operator reputation loss indicators due to onshore pipeline explosion was conducted in this article. It aims to identify pipeline owner reputation-threat factors that lead to negative perceptions among stakeholders prior to pipeline damage, as reported in selected onshore pipeline explosion case studies. A total of 30 pipeline accident reports were reviewed, and the factors influencing the stakeholders' perceptions towards the pipeline operator were extracted; 30 factors affecting the pipeline operator's reputation were identified. This review shows the influence of negative perceptions of the stakeholders on the company's reputation loss after an accident. This factor identification process helps the pipeline operator respond appropriately to maintain the company's reputation in the event of pipeline failure. Eventually, a comprehensive consequence assessment for onshore oil and gas pipeline damage can be obtained by incorporating reputation-threat factors.

Review on the identification of reputation loss indicators in an onshore pipeline explosion event

Apixaban is one of the non-vitamin K antagonist oral anticoagulants (NOACs) currently reimbursed on the Australian Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) for stroke prevention in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation and >=1 risk factors for stroke. Following reimbursement in September 2013, healthcare professionals have expressed concern regarding the perceived inability to accurately measure apixaban levels. Research use only apixaban-specific calibrators and controls became available in Australia and New Zealand in October 2013, for use with STA-liquid anti-Xa reagent (Diagnostica Stago). During the 8 months following the availability of this apixaban-specific assay, 51 sets of apixaban controls and 38 sets of apixaban calibrators were purchased by laboratories across Australia. This survey investigated the nature and pattern of use of the apixaban-specific assay throughout Australia during this time to determine the frequency of assay use, reasons for measuring apixaban levels in patients, frequency of urgent requests, average assay turnaround times and expected apixaban plasma concentrations.

Clinical experience with measuring apixaban exposure in Australia

This study tested the construct validity and predictive power of seven measures of media reputation, which is the overall evaluation of the media coverage of a firm. The test was based on a content analysis of 2,817 news articles about nine large U.S. food companies from 2007 to 2011. The measures of media reputation had a high convergent validity, but only a few of them had significant correlations with corporate reputation. Various measures had different predictive powers for corporate reputation, and a measure combining media favorability and media visibility had a higher predictive power than other measures only focusing on media favorability.

Measuring Media Reputation: A Test of the Construct Validity and Predictive Power of Seven Measures

This chapter examines the impact employer branding and organisational communication activities have on the individual employee's formation of the psychological contract. The psychological contract refers to the individual employee's beliefs about the terms and conditions of a reciprocal exchange agreement between that person and the organization. Employer branding is a strategic human resource management (HRM) concept derived from the marketing discipline that relies on external and internal organisational communication activities to attract, retain and engage high-quality employees. Employer branding practitioners embrace the tools of marketing and brand management, including recruitment advertising events and publicity to promote the organisation's employer brand. The employee-related outcomes of the employee's assessment of psychological contract breach or fulfilment is one of the most widely researched aspects of the psychological contract literature. The organisation has successfully built its employer brand around the promise of a supportive worklife balance organisational culture while at the same time cleverly linking it to the organisation's broader corporate strategy.
