Chemical Composition and Antimicrobial Activity of Some Oleogum Resin Essential Oils from Boswellia SPP. (Burseraceae)

TL;DR: The chemical composition of Boswellia carteri (Somalia), B. serrata oleogum resin essential oils was investigated using GC-MS to identify chemotaxonomy marker components as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Triacylglycerols in edible oils: Determination, characterization, quantitation, chemometric approach and evaluation of adulterations.

TL;DR: The present manuscript provides a general overview on the most common vegetable oils TAGs compositions and on the related analytical methodologies recently used.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mycotoxin contamination of animal feedingstuff: detoxification by gamma-irradiation and reduction of aflatoxins and ochratoxin A concentrations.

TL;DR: Results showed that the gamma-rays even at 15 kGy were not effective in the complete destruction of ochratoxin A and aflatoxins in the testedFeed, indicating that the increasing stringent regulations for mycotoxins imposed by importing countries such as those of the European Union are not safe for human consumption.
Journal ArticleDOI

Antioxidant activity and phenolic composition in pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) genotypes from south Italy by UHPLC-Orbitrap-MS approach.

TL;DR: The UHPLC-Orbitrap-MS approach was employed for the first time to identify the phenolic compound profiling in five pomegranate genotypes, and the results showed a significant variability in nutraceutical potential of the pembrokeshire genotypes studied.
Journal ArticleDOI

Vaccinium macrocarpon (Cranberry)-Based Dietary Supplements: Variation in Mass Uniformity, Proanthocyanidin Dosage and Anthocyanin Profile Demonstrates Quality Control Standard Needed.

TL;DR: Several cranberry-based DS are present in the European market with insufficient quality controls, and considering that often DS are self-prescribed by consumer relying on their claim, the data should encourage more controls and stricter rules.
